It had been a week since the last time Nagisa has visited Karma's house. As promised, he walked her home every day after school.
Unfortunately, he had taken that time to use five more commands. It ranged from getting strawberry milk for him to letting him tutor her. Although she complained in the beginning, she noticed her grades starting to get better. Now Nagisa willingly goes to him for help. She could use all the academic help she could get.
Once class ended, Nagisa was going to start walking home with Karma but Kanzaki stopped her. It was really unusual for her to talk to Nagisa. "Can I talk to you for a bit?" Kanzaki asked her.
Nagisa hesitated a bit before agreeing. She was walking toward the door when Karma called out for her, "Aren't you waiting for me?"
"Yeah, just give me a second," Nagisa called back to him.
Nagisa followed Kanzaki into the hallway. "So what do you want to talk about?"
Kanzaki looked around sheepishly before turning her attention back to Nagisa. "What exactly does Sugino-kun like?"
Nagisa's eyes widened and Kanzaki could swear she was sparkling. "You like Sugi-" Kanzaki cut her off by putting her hand over Nagisa's mouth. Once Nagisa realized she was too loud, Kanzaki lowered her hand.
"Do you want me to tell him?" Nagisa asked her.
Kanzaki shook her head. "I want to able to tell him myself."
"Then why did you tell me this?" Nagisa asked.
Kanzaki shifted slightly back and forth. "You see, I wanted to make sure that you and Sugino-kun weren't dating."
Nagisa's eyes widened before she immediately shook off the idea. "Don't worry. Sugino-kun and I are just friends." Nagisa thought for a minute before realizing something. "Wait, don't you know Karma and I are going out?"
Kanzaki gave a small smile. "A girl has her wits," Kanzaki told her as she winked.
Nagisa soon became a stuttering mess. "I d-don't know-" Kanzaki cut her off by placing her hand on her shoulder.
"Don't worry, I won't tell anyone." Nagisa released a sigh of relief. "But I do want to know the story behind why you would pretend to be someone's boyfriend."
Nagisa let out another long sigh. "Alright, but just don't tell anyone else," Nagisa said before telling Kanzaki the gist of what has happened to her over the past week.
Once Nagisa finished, Kanzaki nodded. "I understand now," She said. "But wouldn't it be easier for you to just tell someone you're being blackmailed?"
Nagisa looked down at her feet. "I did think about it at first, but something's holding me back."
"What is it?" Kanzaki asked.
Nagisa shrugged her shoulders. "I'm not entirely sure." Nagisa though for a bit. "Maybe I just don't want to risk the fact that he could read my diary."
Kanzaki smiled. "I don't think that's what it is." Before Nagisa could ask anything, Kanzaki cut her off, "I'm not sure what I'm thinking is correct, but I'm going to keep betting on it."
Nagisa then realized that Kanzaki didn't want to say what her opinion was. "I'm going to head home now, but can I have your number first?" Nagisa was happy to say she thought of Kanzaki as a friend. I guess our class Madonna has a lot more than beauty up her sleeve, Nagisa thought to herself.
