Light and Dark

Lost in the shadows,

Searching for a hint of light,

But I haven't found it yet,

And I doubt I'll ever find it.

The light doesn't want me;

I'm just too dark.

The light wouldn't accept my dark soul and heart.

If I did find the light, I'd contaminate it,

Turn it dark.

That's how people with depression feel,

Like you're lost in the dark emptiness,

With no way of getting to the truly happy light.

Stranded.

It feels like you are never good enough to be truly happy and in the light.

It seems that whenever a light or happy person try's to help us out of the darkness, we contaminate their light,

Draining them of their happiness until they leave.

They always leave.
