Break Through

Weeks have past, I still watch Annie in that crystal, hoping she will come out. How long will she stay in? Days? Weeks? Months? Years...

The thought haunts me.

Why, I need to know if she felt sorry for all her kills. I need to know. She will pay big time. Revenge is what I seek.

I kick at the tree endlessly, over and over my leg hits the pad on it.

"Very good Annie. You are becoming a very good fighter."

His satisfaction made me push my limits more. I am a skillful fighter, no, I'm not just a fighter, I am a winner!

*Pomph* *Pomph*

I kick and kick, the tree, it changes into a crystal wall infront of me.

*Bam*

I hit harder. It hurts, but I can't stop myself from breaking it down. I mindlessly kick at it and the tears pour down my cheeks.

No, I tell myself. No.

*WHOOSH!*

It breaks.

I look at this crystal more carefully, it seems like nothing can break it. Maybe it is hopeless, but Annie chose to be a coward and hide all her secrets and knowings to herself behind this unbreakable enclosure.

*Wham!*

In what seems like slow motion the crystal shatters.

" What the hell!" I yell.

I struggle to see, it burst, shards everywhere.

Argh! A piece slices my arm. When the explosion calmed down I took a look foward to see Annie, she was in disbelief, emotion flooded her face. I saw tears run down her face.

"No!" She cried out.

"Annie!" I screamed at her in anger.

I ran out and grabbed her with all my force, we tumbled down, she called out, but I didn't care at this point.

Her body was lifeless and so light. This was the first time I took her down and nothing will get in my way, not her, not even Levi. This is my fight.

I slam her body down on the cobblestone floor, my hands push her down on her shoulders. She flinches.

I stare at her face, her once frigid and stoic eyes were now full of fear and plump tears that spilled over on her cheeks.

My scowl turns more soft. She looks so terrified, all this strength over her made me scared too.

In the backround I hear footsteps and look over at the stairs to my far left. Heicho.

"Oi, brat" Levi says.

He then sees Annie and runs over to us, he grabs me and throws me to the side with eagerness and picks Annie up by her collar.

"You." He confronts.

He picks her up and puts her in a chair and ties her wrists down to the chair arms.

The squad shortly comes down to see for themselves. Mikasa has hate in her eyes and Armin calms her down. Levi began.

" Why did you kill all those people in your titan form?" He asked

" Why do you ask?" She says weakly, she is still crying a little.

" You have no right to question me, so answer me now!" Levi yells.

He then punches her in the face.

She lets her head hang for a minute.

her head lifts, " I DIDN'T MEAN TO KILL EVERYONE!" She screams with hot tears falling.

" I FEEl SO MUCH POWER, THE POWER CAN TAKE OVER!"

" I, I , I didn't mean to end all those lives." Her voice breaks.

"Do you feel sorry Annie?" Levi asks

" Yes, I do. I do" She cries.

" I've seen you like this twice." He says.

Everyone perks up, this is the first time anyone has seen Annie cry, let alone show any emotion other than anger or that distant look.

" Why did you cry when we took Eren away from you?"

" I, I was given a mission to capture him so I could go home and I failed to do that, I, I can't, I can't go home." Her voice softens with sadness.

" I see. Well since you failed your mission, the mission has ended. So I am giving you a chance because I know you know how to control your titan form very well and you know much more about it than us. You hold a lot of useful knoledge we could use. So the question is, are you fighting alongside humanity or are you against humanity?"

Annie stares in disbelief, another chance? Levi you actually do know your stuff. It is true, Annie is a much more useful test subject than me, she understands her titan.

" I am willing to fight with you, I don't want to be the enemy anymore." Annie says.
I look at her, I can tell by the way she expressed herself that she was honest, I think even Sasha and Connie could tell she was being faithful to her word.

" Alright then." He unties her wrists and leaves with his leftover squad.

He turns around, " Oh and Eren please sleep in Annie's cell, she seems to trust you most."

I blush and see as Mikasa is about the rage.

Everyone starts to whisper and look at us as everyone left.

Now it was just us.
