On October 4th, 2016 my life changed completely. I woke up and got ready for school like I did everyday. My day wasn't very good, I forgot to pay my lunch account so I didn't eat at all that day.

After school I was talking to my mom and I don't remember what it was about. But I put my phone down because I had to go to volleyball practice. When practice is over I looked at my phone and I seen a text that my mom sent me. It said, "The farm house caught on fire and Diesel was in it." Diesel was an Australian Shepherd and he was 2 years old when he died.

One of the girls that is on my team her family is close to mine. She told me that she did not know what was going on in that she had gotten the same text.
One of the older girls on my volleyball team gave me a ride home from practice that day. I have been trying to call my mom to see what was going on, and when she called me back I was almost home. I immediately answered it because I was really  worried and that's when she told me that he died. I tried to stay strong and make it to my house before I broke down crying but I didn't make it.

This was not the first time that the Farmhouse was caught on fire. The first time was a couple years ago before my mom met Scott. That time the house caught on fire and it was only the upstairs because of the air conditioner in Kale's room had started the fire. This time the house fire was worse, instead of it just ruining the upstairs the whole entire house burnt down.

The fire chief of our town was farming ground that he has near us and he saw smoke coming from our property. He thought that Scott was burning something but then realize that it was way too big for him to be burn in something. Garrett the fire chief went by the house and noticed that the smoke was coming from the house. He called it in and it when he went back to the station it took him seven minutes to get all of the stuff he needed to put out the fire. When he got back he said that the windows were blown out and there was flames coming from the windows. He called Scott and said "dude the house is on fire get over it as fast as you can I don't know what's going to be left of it." Scott called Kale and Kolt and told them what was happening. Kale got there first but he let the fire trucks and all of the emergency vehicles go by and he couldn't get to the house because of the cop blocking the road. Scott felt so bad because he called Kale and he had to watch his house burned down. He could do nothing about it. Kolt was in a class and he told his teacher. His Ag teacher told him to go. Scott, my mom, Gale our farm helper, and Kolt got to the house around the same time. There's a cop blocking the road and Scott told him that he needed to get over there because it was his house that was on fire and the cop would not let him through. When a fire truck came on Scott jumped on and said "Hey they need to let me down there that's my house on fire." When the cop finally let Scott and everybody else go through Scott didn't wait he took the Hummer  and drove it through the ditch and out and away he went. He's scared my mom to death when he parked in the in water way across from the house.

The fire really hit me and Kolt the hardest because Kolt was still living at the house, while everybody else was in the process of moving. Everything a Kolt had was gone. It was hard for him and I to lose our best friend.

I look back today and I am very thankful that Garrett went and checked on the house and called it in. I am also glad that nobody else got hurt. If he did not get there in time we would would of loss more than just the house and summer kitchen. There was a propane tank 10 feet away from the house and it was starting to turn colors when Garrett got back to the house.. The propane tank was empty but if some of you don't know when propane tanks are empty it's even worse. The firefighters asked as if we had a disk or anything that we could use is case the fire got out of control and went into to the field that way we would not lose our crops.

It's amazing how many people were there for us after the fire. My brother's class mates new that he lost is X-Box and when he went into class one day he seen an X-Box with a couple games sitting on his desk. He also got some new hats and some clothes.  I had so many friends that asked me if I was okay and that if I needed anything.
