Carrie's POV

'Are you going to school then?' Niall was sat on the stairs, watching me pick up my shoes and bag.

'Probably. I haven't been since France. My parents only just forgave me after I fell. Turns out, they knew about the bloodclot or whatever in my head, and thought the doctor told me. But they think that seeing as nothing fatal has happened, I should be ready to go back to school. That's okay, right?' I asked.

'That's fine.' He sat back smiling. 'You need to see the girls, and I need some time with the boys. I'll see you soon, yeah?'

'Sure.' He leaned forward and I bent forward to give him a soft kiss on the lips.

'Bye.' I waved and walked out the door, and started walking to my house. It was pretty far, so I used some spare change to get a bus. I hopped off, and stepped slowly round the garden, and climbed in through a loose window. My parents didn't notice. After all, it was only eleven o clock in the morning. They were still in bed.

I ran quickly upstairs, took out my hair clips, dressed in my pyjamas and took off my make up. I then got up and yawned as if somebody was watching. My mum did happen to walk past.

'Morning, sweetheart. I think we'll give school a try today, yeah?' She smiled, and walked into the bathroom, turning on the shower. A few minutes later I heard her singing.

I laughed to myself, and pulled on my school uniform. I suspected the girls were at school. I mean, there was nothing stopping them, was there?

My mum walked into my room at about half eleven, dressed up in her jeans and her hair tied back into a neat ponytail. She shrugged her shoulders forward, smiling.

'Ready?' I grabbed my school bag and followed her down the stairs, trying not to wake up my Dad. I climbed into the car and straightened out my skirt, and pulled the tie closer to my neck.

'Uniform feels odd.' I pulled a face in the mirror, and wiped in an orange spot of foundation.

'You haven't worn it since you ran away to France.'

'Yeah i'm sorry about that.' I bit my lip as she nodded. Soon enough we arrived at my school. I climbed out, saying goodbye to my Mum and slung my handbag/school bag over my shoulder. I walked, casually to reception and pulled open the glass door.

'Carrie!' I smiled. I walked up and rested on the desk.

'You're back?' She smiled. I nodded and handed over my school planner, to the page where my mum signed it.

'A bloodclot? Sounds horrible! How you feeling now?'

'Not bad. But I miss P.E. That's good, right?' She laughed, signing the note and handed my planner back to me.

'Lucky you. It's Engllish first.'

'Okay thanks.' I smiled before walking up the stairs to my english classroom. I knocked on the door before stepping in. All eyes turned to me. Ellie and Beth were in this class and their faces lit up when they saw me.

'Carrie?' Mrs Turner stopped writing on the board, and walked up to me.

'Are you back for good? I don't think Mr Phillipstone would appreciate people who feel like they can come and go at any moment. Take your seat.' I bit my lip before walking to the back and taking my seat next to Ellie. She quickly ripped out a piece of paper and scribbled on it. Then shoved it under my nose.

How's Niall?

I smiled, then scribbled back:

Fine. I've taken a break for school though.

You're kidding? I'd stay with Niall. He's hot and better than homework.

I birst out laughing which made Mrs Turner look over. Before Ellie could smuggle the notes in her bag, Mrs Turner walked over and held out a bony hand. Ellie squashed the note into her hand, before she walked to the front and opened the note up.

'Who's Niall?' I heard a girl squeak and the back of the class room and saw Mollie Heartwell clutching her one direction pencil case, hard. I smiled.

'That's her boyfriend.' She screwed up her face, and stuck out her tounge in jealousy. Suddenly a few boys from the front turned round and looked at me.

'From that band you are always banging on about?' One asked. I nodded, biting my lip. He raised his eyebrow, smiling as the rest continuously asked me questions.

_

At break, Ellie and Beth told me everything that was new. Pizza prices had gone up by ten pence, and a new rule that only primary colours may be worn in hair. Great.

Then I saw Roos run up and before I could stand up, she ran and flattened me with a hug. Flora and Megan ran after her and joined in, whilst Ellie and Beth laughed at my reaction.

'Missed you loads, babe!' Flora wrapped her arms round my face and laughed.

'So how's Niall?' Megan asked, smiling.

'Tell us!' Beth grabbed my arm and shook it.

'Why do we have to talk about Niall?' I sighed.

'Would you rather talk about the very high pizza prices?' Megan asked, smiling.

'Guess not. Well not much happened after the party. We left you and went back home. Flora. Did you ever find out who gave you those drugs?' I asked. I looked up and Flora went red.

'No. But. I don't know. I think Harry was checking after everybody left.' I nodded and suddenly the boy from my english class walked over.

'Hey.' Beth blushed a bright red. After not going to school for a long time, I finally realized who it was.  Charlie Alex. In every school there are those boys or one boy that every girl falls for. The type that is friends with everybody. Yeah well he was standing beside our table, smiling at me. Note that he's never actually noticed my existance until now.

'Hey.' I brushed it off like it was nothing, but I saw Beth buzzing.

'Can I talk to you?' I looked up and he winked at me. I frowned and looked at the girls.

'I don't think...' I saw Ellie nod furiously and I felt a kick under the table. Wasn't sure who by, but it made me stand up. I stood up and slung my coat over my folded arm, following Charlie out the hall door. He lead me to the school field, and he took me where nobody else was.

The screaming from the school grounds had silenced a bit, and Charlie smiled.

'So. You're dating Niall from that band?'

'Yeah.. why..?' I shuffled back towards the wall, but that might have been what he wanted. He put his hands to my waist.

'Settle for better?' He winked, and leaned in to kiss me.

'Fuck off!' I ducked under his arm.

'You're missing out.'

'No. Leave me alone.'

I walked back to the school, wiping a tear from my eye and burst in the doors, before sitting down to join my friends again.

'Everything okay?' Roos leaned forward and brushed some mud off my coat. I nodded smiling, making it look as real as possible.
