The next day was more chill. We started with some casual breakfast and Ed told me he was sorry for the way he acted, but he had a lot of shit coming from the military.
I understood and accepted his sincere apologies. I also apologized, I was a bit too over the top
Don't get me wrong, it's nice to have a fresh start, even if I rarely forgive anyone.
Winry: "Now that we're done eating... *looks at Ed who is still eating like a hungry wolf* ...how bout you guys go buy some things to bond better? Maybe an hour or two. I mean, talk on the way home and yeah, that's it. No other reason" she was waving her hands nervously in front of her face
"Are you sure you don't wanna get rid of us?" I asked, with obvious concern
"Aaah, no way. Just go!" She pushed us out of the house and gave me a wink. She was up to something. This girl is as subtle as a punch in the nuts. (I mean, not subtle at all)
Al:"Brother, I believe Winry is acting weird. Don't you agree?"
Ed:" Not that I care" Ed crossed his hands and began walking
I thought to myself, Winry has been planning a birthday party for Ed but I didn't know his b-day was today. Does that make me a bad listener?
That's the only thing I can think of, maybe that's why she sent us all to go shopping.
Oh, she forgot to tell us what she wants us to buy. Never mind that, I'll just come up with something to trick them in not being curious about her behavior.
As we were walking, I saw birds bathing in the lake, and it felt so good to be touched by the rays of the Sun.
I wonder how Al feels, not being able to feel the warmth of the Sun, it must be depressing
I dare not to ask him, I only want to help people. Asking him will probably make him feel terrible. Even if he accepted the situation, it doesn't mean that he isn't hurt by it
Ed:" So, what do we have to buy?"
Al was about to say that Winry didn't tell us but I cut him off by saying "ya know, some milk and veggies. Maybe some pork, yeah" as I winked at Al nervously
The thing was...he didn't get my hint.
Al:"When did she say that? I'm pretty sure she didn't say anything"
I laughed nervously "Of course she did, silly. Or maybe she just told me" I tried to convince them but I obviously failed. They are not fools, and we've been practically together all day so I can't believe I came up with such a weak lie
Ed:"Let's go back and ask her" I quickly stepped in front of Ed with both my arms wide open
"No! I know what she wants, just come on!" Al and Ed looked at each other and then nodded. Al picked me up and I started to panic, not being prepared for this
Ed:"stop yelling, you're obviously lying" I nervously kicked and punched Al to let me go
"I'm not, why can't you trust me for a second?"
Ed smirked "Maybe cause you're covering for Winry?" He chuckled and started walking back home.
"Al, let me go!" I screamed but in vain, he reassured me that it's okay if he carried me, cause he can't feel the exhaustment and it's better for me too. "But I wanna walk!" My attempts were in vain, so I don't know why I even tried.
There was no point trying to run cause they would not care about me and just go home, not even trying to find me.
And I bet Al would come after me if Ed wasn't such a douche and wasn't constantly bossing him
Cause little brother always obeys big brother, ain't that obvious?
As we got closer to the house, I finally convinced Al to let me go.
I managed to keep them outside long enough for Winry to prepare the room.
Ed was the first to open the door as Winry and her grandma shouted "Happy Birthday, Ed!" Winry jumped in Ed's arms and he was surprised. He didn't expect to have received such a warm welcome.
Ed:"uhm...thanks Winry, Pinako-sama" he smiled and hugged Winry.
I stood still, feeling awkward "happy birthday, Ed...May your wishes fulfill, and dreams come true!"
I smiled at him and he came to hug me. It was quite unexpected and weird
It was getting pretty late but I was so thirsty for soda, I had to get some
I cannot live without sweets or sodas. And we already drunk every bottle of soda from Winry's place.
I didn't want to be a bother so I went alone, even if Al noticed and came after me.
We talked and laughed as we headed to the nearest shop, which wasn't so near actually.
We got to the town center and I was eager to put my hands on some cans of delicious beverage
Al:"Say... Isn't it better if we buy 2 big bottles so we'll have some resources at home?"
"Agreed, Al. Now, what flavor should I get?" Al wondered around, searching for the best flavour. Then he replied "buy whatever you'll like. I have money"
I blushed a little "No, Al. I also have money, I'm not gonna spend yours" he laughed and told me that it's no problem
"Let's have a deal. If I ever run out of money, I will tell you"
Al:" Deal!" He hopped up and down like a little kid. It was amusing.
I told Al to go get some sweets too while I pay for the soda and I'll wait for him outside.
I put my soda down for a second and Ed came running towards me
Ed:" Hurry up, there's a fire!"
I was creeped out. But I knew better, or so I thought.
"If there's a fire, why are you here?" Ed groaned and tried to hit me
Al dodged it for me "Brother, what are you doing?" Ed kicked him and Al went flying towards the wall
"Oh my God, are you mad? Stop it!"
He caught me by the throat and slammed me against the wall. I wasn't made of an iron so I felt the pain numbing me
The last thing I knew was that Ed attacked Al
Everything went black. I fainted, unable to help or run away
I know for a fact that Ed wouldn't hit his brother. Was he possessed? I cannot understand...
