Bond Between Villages (Gaara love story/ Naruto fan-fic)

*Go little recap thing!*

"It just says that there's been something important over in Suna and we need to go back home... They'll be sending an escort in nine days time to bring us back." 

"What?" All the guys were confused.  I turned to see them all somewhat frozen, even Kiba had walked in and had his thin eyebros raised in surprise.

"Well it's a three day journey... So we've got a little over a week before they'll be here..." I didn't bother rolling the paper back, but just handed it to Kankuro.  Kankuro being himself, would read it over about four times before he got the full affect.  

"I'm going to bed..." He held his hands up in a surrendering motion and turned to walk away, handing the paper to Gaara.

"Me too." Kiba yawned and trudged towards the stairs, Akamaru happily following behind.

"I think I will too." I said. We ll said goodnight to each other and walked to our rooms.  

I walked down the hallway to where my room was, across from Kitsune's.

'Why is her light on?' I peeked my head into her room to see her passed out on her bed.

I sighed and shook my head, flicking off her light and walking into my own room.

Third Person POV

Temari sat with Kitsune at the kitchen table of their house. 

Neither said anything, their conversation had taken place earlier and they now sat eating ramen in quiet.  The two didn't appear to be neither happy not sad, but somewhere hovering in the middle. 

The usually bubbly Kitsune offered not even a half smile, but kept her eyes focused on the table in front of her, lost in a daydream.  Temari was never very loud, but she was quiet even for her standards. 

"I still don't get it." Kitsune spoke, her eyes not leaving their dazed stare at the table.

"I know.  But as soon as we get there we'll tell you what's going on.". Temari assured the red head.  

"Yeah.  But why now? The mission won't last much longer anyway." Her voice sounded almost broken. Temari knew why, and of course it had to do with one of the other Sand shinobi leaving in eight days. 

Gaara.

He had been the topic of their earlier conversation, Temari trying to get Kitsune to basically run up and kiss her brother next chance she got.

Kitsune of course objected to said idea.

"Well Suna hasn't had a Kazekage in a while... So that kind of means things are crazy over there." The blonde pointed out.

"Yeah..." Kitsune sighed.  She paused before continuing. "But do you think I could go with you? Like... Like an escort! I can make sure you all get back." 

Temari laughed a little, standing up with her bowl of ramen and pouring the leftovers into the sink.
"That's something to take up with Lady Tsunade."

Kitsune blinked, and nodded before standing up and putting her empty bowl in the sink with Temari's.

"She might let me... I mean it's not like I'm gonna stay here alone with Kiba. Maybe we'll just both be done with this after you guys leave." Kitsune sighed.
