Every year I've been asked about Tanner fox. When will he come back?
Will he ever come back?
Do you guys still talk?
It was hard at first but it died down once people started losing faith in Tanners return. I haven't heard a thing about him. We talked for a couple weeks before he left, he wrote me a couple letters then all at once it just stopped. It's like he knew he wasn't coming back, and he didn't want to tell me. I didn't try to contact him, I don't know why. But now it doesn't really matter, I just hope he's doing okay..I marked on my calendar the first day of summer. I tore it off the wall throwing it into my trash can. I only used the calendar to write down my work I needed for school.
"First day of summer how are you feeling kiddo?" My mom asked barging into my room.
"Mom..." I ignored her rudeness "great actually."
"Go out get some fresh air." My mom smiled.
"Is this your way of making me take Bryson to the skate park? He's 8 mom he'll be fine." I assured her.
"No, I worry too much. Please just take him." She begged.
"Fine." I stood up grabbing my laptop.
"And no college work please. It's summer, relax a bit." She grabbed it from me setting it on my desk.
"I have to start worrying about my future mom." I picked it back up.
"Promise me you won't be on it the whole time?" She raised her eyebrow.
"I promise." I smiled.
"Thank you." She stepped out of my way so I could walk out.
Charlie came running up to me. I kneeled down a little as he began to lick my face. Charlie was a big dog now, and one of the cutest.
"You want to go play?" I asked Charlie petting him.
He started to get excited wagging his tail harder and licking my face faster.
I grabbed his leash putting it on him.
"Come on Bryson, im not waiting long." I said walking down the stairs.
"Yeah yeah." He said on while playing video games.
He still hasn't got over his obsession.
"Now Bryson!" I demanded.
He started to walk out with his skateboard running down the stairs "I'm coming."
We walked out and straight to the skating park.
When we got there I opened my laptop answering to text and important college emails.
I remembered what my mom said and closed my laptop after finishing up and sending my emails. I looked around noticing how much the skate park has changed since Tanner and I were together. I smiled at the thought of him.
I shook my head opening my computer back up and going to YouTube. I'm just wondering if he carried on his vlogs. I typed in his name and pressed search then waited for it to load. A bunch of videos started to pop up with Tanners face on it.
"Holy shit.." I whispered to myself.
I started to look at the views '2 million, 1 million, 3 million' it seemed some were popular than others. I went to his channel and saw that he had 3 million subscribers. My jaw dropped.
"Whatcha looking at?"
I looked up to see Jake and I quickly shut my laptop.
"Hey, what are you doing here?" I asked.
"What were you doing?" He pointed at the laptop.
"Oh.. I was just doing some college emails. Nothing too fancy." I shrugged.
"It's summer.." he rolled his eyes.
"I know." I giggled.
"That's cute." He smiled "so how about you me date tonight?"
"Oh Jake. That's sweet but-" I began.
"But.. you still love Tanner." He said.
"No no that's not it at all. It's just not good timing." I half smiled.
"Well when will be good timing?" He asked "because you seem to always turn me down."
"You just don't understand." I grabbed my head.
"I completely understand. I've been in love before." He grabbed my knee.
"No Jake that's not- whatever I have to get going." I stood up grabbing my laptop and Charlie "come on Bryson."
Jake has always had a crush on me, ever since Tanner left. And I always said no to his date requests. I mean don't get me wrong he's a great guy. But I can't do that to Daniella, even though we don't hang anymore.. or Tanner, even though he's not here. But I'm still gonna wait.
We got back home and I let Charlie go going up to my room and laying on my bed opening my computer.
I began to scroll through some of Tanners videos before my door was opened. I shut my laptop really quick before anyone saw.
"Oops sorry." My mom said peaking her head into my room.
"Knock mom knock." I reminded her in an annoyed tone.
"I'll remember that next time.. but I need you to go pick some things up from the grocery store please." She begged waiting for an answer.
"What do you need?" I sighed.
"Here's a list." She stepped in handing me a paper from her back pocket. I unfolded it reading the list off.
"Okay I'll go.." I agreed seeing I have nothing better to do.
"Thank you, here's my card." She smiled handing me her card.
I nodded walking out grabbing my keys and getting into my car.
I started the car backing up and heading towards the store. Once I got there I walked through the parking lot and straight in, it was a sketchy Walmart. I grabbed my cart and began to look around for the items my mom needed.
"Tomatoes, tomatoes, tomatoes." I repeated to myself looking around in vegetables.
I continued to watch and look around not long before I bumped carts with someone.
"Hey watch where you're- Tanner?" I questioned looking up seeing him texting on his phone.
His head shot up. "Mia?"
"Hey.." I began to smile.
"Hey, what are you up to?" He asked sliding his phone into his back pocket.
"Just here to get some things for my mom. How long have you been here?" I asked raising my eyebrow.
"A couple months. I wasn't going to come back, but I started talking to an old friend and we're together now." He smiled.
"Oh..Well I-" I began.
"Oh there she is." He smiled motioning her over here.
I looked over to see Daniella running over here.
"Mia?" Daniella asked in shock "you look great."
"Daniella... and Tanner... what a lovely surprise." I lied.
"Yeah, crazy isn't it?" She giggled grabbing onto Tanners arm. "You can't hide your boyfriend either."
"My boyfriend?" I questioned
"Oh shut up, I know it's Jake." She laughed "the constant Facebook flirting, posting about each other on Instagram... it's like we traded lives."
