"Then what?.." Jake asked pacing back in forth in my room.
"Then she made a comment I don't know something about us trading lives." I rolled my eyes falling back into my bed.
"I'm happy for Daniella, why not switch lives." Jake commented.
"Jake" I sat up really fast. "I invited you over for advice."
"I'm just kidding chill out." He turned around and began to think. "Mia you were his first love, there is no way a guy can get over his first love."
"He did, I wasn't the reason he came back she was." I looked down at the floor.
"Probably because he didn't think you were still interested." He sat next to me. "You guys didn't keep in contact."
"That's true..." I nodded my head.
"He'll want you back Mia, he'd be crazy to let a girl like you just slip right through his fingers." He put his hand on my knee. "I'm sure the moment he saw you he fell in love with you all over again."
"Thanks Jake." I began to smile.
"Yeah." He stood up "I got to go home, I'll talk to you later."
I nodded my head and with that Jake left.
I pulled out my laptop looking at college text books and emails. I wanted to go out though, it felt so boring just sitting inside.
"Hey bryson." I called out getting off my bed and walking to his room "want to go to the skatepark?"
"Really? Yes." He said excitedly grabbing his skateboard.
I walked back in my room grabbing my laptop then down the stairs heading to the skatepark. When we made it Bryson began to skate around while I opened my laptop and began replying to al my emails.
"Destiny brings us back. Twice in one day?"
I look up to see Tanner.
"Oh, hi." I shut my computer.
"Crazy, it's like I was just here with you two years ago." He joked.
"I could have sworn it." I laughed.
He sat down next to me "so what are you up to?"
"Just college emails." I rolled my eyes.
"Oh come on, you don't have to worry about that yet." He said.
"I know but it gives me something to do.." I shrugged "so how's the vlogs?"
"You saw I see? Did a little stocking?" He raised his eyebrow.
"Well no I-" I began.
"I know, I was just giving you a hard time." He nudged me. Like he use to do when we were together. "It's going great, I have a lot of support. And my mom is actually really happy that you got me into it."
"Well I can't take all credit." I half smiled.
"If it wasn't for you I wouldn't be vlogging, so thank you." He smiled.
"Yeah." I smiled back.
It began to grow silent, I noticed myself starring at Tanner. Tanner began to look at my eyes and then down to my lips. I turned away really quick looking around the skatepark.
"Remember the first time we met here?" Tanner laughed.
"Yes, I hated you." I laughed.
"You thought I was some weirdo."
"You wouldn't even shake my hand." "I wouldn't even shake your hand." Tanner and I both said at the same time. We bother looked at eachother and began to laugh.
"Those were the good times, after that we did so many fun things." Tanner shook his head "do you still have that summer list?"
"Yes." I laughed "everything from egging a house to skinny dipping."
Tanner began to chuckle. "Do you remember our spot."
"Yes, I use to go there a lot when you left." I admitted but it grew quiet after.
"Amazing view there." He commented "that's where I admitted my feelings for you.."
"..yeah it was." I said awkwardly.
"But... how's Jake?" He asked.
"Good. But we definitely aren't dating." I nervously laughed.
"You sure about that?" He asked with a smirk.
"Yes. Positive. He wanted to go on dates, but no." I shrugged.
"Why? You're single." He reminded me.
"Yeah but I don't know." I shook my head.
"Listen I feel like kind of a dick now." He leaned back on the bench.
"Why?" I asked.
"Because it kind of sounds like you were waiting for me to come back.. I mean I just thought you moved on or something because you never texted me." He ran his fingers through his hair in frustration.
"What? No." I laughed nervously "it's fine, I'm fine." I lied.
"Mia." He said knowing I was lying.
"Tanner, really." I rolled my eyes playfully. "I have to go, but let's see if "destiny" brings us together again." I said putting finger quotes around destiny.
"Or we can just hang?" Tanner pointed out.
"Not a good idea." I said standing up "after all you are dating my best friend.."
"Mia-" he began
"Bye Tanner." I said grabbing my laptop "come on Bryson."
And with that we left. I was a lot stronger than I expected I would be, I think I can do this, I hope.
