-Niko's POV- Fire

"Mommyyy, Daddyyy! Look!" I said giggling as I weaved through the cracked-up walls of our home, holding out my arms. "I'm an airplane, I'm an airplane!"

Mommy smiled as Daddy held her around the waist close to them as they watched me.

"Indeed, you are!" Mommy encouraged before she laughed when I accidentally tripped on a big pebble and fell. It was a big pebble... Mommy and Daddy quickly walked over to me and Mommy knelt.

"You ok sweety?" she said sweetly as she patted my head. "No bumps, no bruises?"

"Nope!" I said cheerfully as I sprang back up and dusted off my trousers. "I'm a big boy! Us big boys don't get hurt so easily!"

Daddy chuckled and patted my back hard. But I didn't mind because he said, "That's my boy. You keep on growing up big and strong."

I stood up as straight as I could and puffed out my chest as I watched their smiles twinkle. Mommy patted my head one last time.

"I'm going to go see what we have in the kitchen, ok sweety? I'm gonna go make us all some dinner."

"Rodger!" I said as I saluted before stretching out my arms and going into airplane mode again. "Vroom, vrooooom!!"

When it was dinner time, Mommy called me over for dinner. I told my invisible crew to wait for me to be done and then we could all come back and be airplanes tomorrow. I ran over to the dinner table and popped down into my seat.

"Ooo yaay! Cabbage and chicken! We never have chicken! Thank you Mommy and Daddy!" I cheered before we all held hands and started our prayer.

"Dear God, please keep this family healthy, fed, and always smiling. Amen."

Once we finished, Mommy said, "Daddy worked extra hard last night to get this for us. Say thank you to him."

"Thank yooou Daddyyyy!" I chorused.

"No problem kiddo. Do you remember what day it is tomorrow?" he asked with a big smile on his face.

"Ummm, Saturday?"

"Think bigger."

"Ahhh..."

"Your birthday silly goose!" Mommy laughed happily, unable to contain herself as she and Daddy's faces had big smiles on them.

"Really?!" I gasped as I started bouncing up and down in my chair. They both laughed.

"Yup! The big double digits. One-one!"

"Whoopeee! Yayay! I completely forgot it was my birthday!"

"Hahaha. We know. But now you have something to look forwards to tomorrow and you won't have to wait for a long time," Mommy said gently.

"Thank youuu."

"Now let's dig in!"

We all eat slowly because apparently, if you eat too fast you could get a stomach ache or you don't feel full and still wanna eat more. Once we finished, I helped Mommy and Daddy clean out the dishes in the wash-bin before they told me to go to bed and kissed me on the forehead goodnight.

"Okaaay. Nighty!" I said, kissing both of their cheeks as always, before I went to bed. I excitedly walked to my room and put on my PJs. I was careful to not rip it this time. A few days ago, I accidentally put it on too quickly and it ripped when I shoved my arms through the tight sleeves. I don't know why I was in a hurry that day. Mommy got mad at me but she sewed it back together so it was all A-OK. I turned off the light in my room and rolled over to go to sleep, hugging Mr. Cuddles. He's the little light-brown bear that always cuddles withme at night. I can't sleep without him. He is always there when I need cuddles. But just when I was about to fall asleep and dream happily about tomorrow, I heard voices.
