-Hunter's POV- "Push it"
"Is that all you can do?! One more! Just one more! Push it! Push it to the limit! Push it till you can't feel your dying muscles no more! Puushhh iiiiitt!" Pops spat in my face as I was gasping for air, red in the face as I was struggling with every ounce and fiber in my body to do one last butterfly arm pull. Once I pulled the bars far enough, I sucked in a big breath of relief as I concluded my one hundred and fiftieth butterfly arm pulls with thirty pounds on each arm." That's 'ma boy!" said Pops as he clapped his hand on my back and stood up from the stool he was spotting me from. "Six minutes and eleven seconds. That's a new record! With this progress, you can definitely follow in my footsteps and become a professional athlete like me," he said proudly as he shot me a smile before saying he was going to do some more workouts of his own, telling me toget some water and rest up for the day. "And don't forget," he said on his way out to quickly use the restroom first, "we're going to do that ten mile run later on today at noon so-"
"-be careful what you eat. Got'cha Pops," I said as I shot him a weak thumbs up and a smile. He nodded satisfied and headed out the door. I groaned and sighed with relief as soon as the door shut. My muscles were aching!
"Gahh geez Pops..." I said as I massaged and rolled my arms, stretching them out. "You really know how to work out your nineteen-year-old son. Well... I guess if you want to become a professional athlete, you gotta start early.." I said to no one in particular as I grabbed my shirt on the side of the workout machine and headed to the showers. Since Pops is still pretty popular with the modeling industry and was extremely famous in his teens and twenties as an all-star athlete, we have a pretty big house with a gym that seems almost as big as the other side of the house. Pops, as you can tell, is pretty into workouts. Still going strong at age forty-two.
I went into the showers and turned on the water stepping in, letting the cool water hit my burning-hot skin, sighing in relief and relaxation. I don't know how long I stay in here. Pops and Ma tease me once in a while because I stay in there for so long, telling me I'm going to grow old in there. What can I say?... Showers are beautiful.
When I got out, I wrapped a towel around my waist and grabbed my sweaty clothes, bringing them upstairs to wash. When I got up, I walked over to the laundry room and threw the clothes in, starting the machine and headed up to my room. My life isn't all about workouts (though it does take up a significant amount of my life). I closed the door and flopped on my bed, not really caring to put on clothes because no one was inthe house at the moment other than Pops. I picked up some of my textbooks and paper and started practicing for upcoming tests and possible Pop-Quizzes. I'm in college... I honestly feel really lucky to be able to go. Because I'm a Sparrow, it's extremely hard to even just go to school at times! But when people found out who my father was and what we were capable of because of the amount of money we have, administrators slowly backed off and discussed things with the council to help me get into middle school and high school. However, I told my Pops and Ma (mostly Pops) not to get involved with my college stuff. I wanted to get into college on my own. One of the few rights that allow us Sparrows to go to a university or college is by getting a scholarship in something. I got one in math and athletic scholarships in all sports provided in high school (soccer, swimming, tennis, football, and so on... And don't ask me how I managed it all, along with my studies; because I have no idea).
After a few hours on my own, lost in my studies, a particular chapter in one of my history text books caught my eye.
