He made himself comfortable on my bed. Taking off his shoes and unbuttoning his shirt a bit more. He patted the spot beside him. "Come on, sit. Lay down with me."

I shook my head. He furrowed his brows. "What's wrong? I'm not going to try anything, I promise."

I didn't move.

"Don't you trust me?"

He looked hurt again.

I found my voice. "I trust you."

I was incredibly uncomfortable with how this conversation was going. He knew me so well, he was my best friend after all. This whole night I'd begun to notice things about him. I always knew he was good looking but tonight it actually meant something. The way his eyes were a green that shined when he was happy. how they dulled when he was sad. The genuine look of happiness on his face when he saw me happy. He had opened doors for me, he'd given me everything I didn't know I wanted tonight.

I was falling in love with my best friend and to go one step further, I would happily make out with him and more. I was now one of those sappy girls who just wanted a boyfriend to kiss and hold hands with.

Hawkes eyes flickered in realisation.

"Is it you that you don't trust?"

I didn't really need to respond. I closed my eyes as if I could hide the truth from him. He started to laugh. "It totally makes sense. Savannah Jane Steadman finally found a man she can't control herself around. And I, Alexander James Hawke is that man. Me, the handsome, intelligent and wealthy man managed to get you to change your mind about your sacred virginity and I wasn't even trying. "

He was gleeful. Absolutely gleeful. My face was flushed with embarrassment I folded my arms and huffed indignantly.

He responded by wrapping his arms around me and pulling me down beside him. I was caught off guard and giggled nervously.

"Hawke, what are you doing? What if mum comes home and walks in here? You practically ran out of here the other night when she caught us almost kissing. Now you're trying to convince me to lie down on my bed with you. "

Hawke gave à sigh. "Nothing is going to happen. Your mum isn't going to walk in here, I happen to know she's very busy tonight. I'm not going to pressure you into doing anything. I just want to spend time with you, alone. However if you want to jump my bones, I'm not going to say no."

"Jump your bones?" I said. I rolled my eyes. Maybe I was being too hasty with finding him attractive and wanting to make out with him. "I think I'm good."

I gave in and cuddled up beside him. Hawke grabbed the remote for my stereo and hit play so my CD's would start playing.

"What if my sister walks in?"

Hawke laughed and kissed me softly on the cheek. "She won't. She's also busy." He had an all knowing look on his face as if he knew something about my sister that I didn't.

"What do you know?" I asked.

Hawke shrugged. "I can't say. In exchange for getting help in planning tonight I had to agree to some things and help your sister. I also promised not to tell you."

I was hurt. Why was Charlene keeping things from me? On top of that Hawke knew but wasn't telling me.

"Don't sulk. Let your sister have a good night." He lightly tapped my hand with the remote. I couldn't help it. I thought we shared everything.

"Star," Hawke said in a firm voice. "Come on, don't let this ruin the night."

I tried to listen to him and put it out of my mind. I felt Hawkes finger lightly brush over my chin before he tiled my head up slightly and he kissed me. A long passionate kiss. I couldn't stop myself from pulling him closer and arching my back.

Hawke broke the kiss to laugh. I was back to pouting. "Why are you laughing?"

He shook his head. He moved away from me.

"I'm sorry. Let's just listen to your music. "

We kept some space between us and listened to song after song. We sung along to the ones we knew and laughed when we got the lyrics wrong.

I don't remember falling asleep but when I woke up there was no space between us. Our legs and arms were tangled together in such a way it was hard to tell where I ended and he began. I felt safe and relaxed.

I felt happy.

I looked over to Hawke who was already awake. "Good Valentine's Day?"

He asked. I nodded" best ever." I said.

"Good." He whispered before leaning down and kissing me.
