There was an unsettling air around the campus. Perhaps it was the fact that everyone was anxious for the homecoming dance. There was of course one meeting that night, the one before the homecoming dance.
Jack has finally agreed to go a meeting to Cas' delight. The cellar is dark and only the screen is lit as usual. Mia has her hand in a fist resting on the desk.
"Personally I think we've gotten ourselves distracted, it's time we took our freedom," she says bitterly.
"And how do you plan on doing that?" Aaron asks.
She crosses her arms raising an eyebrow.
"That would be the day after tomorrow, we raid the hospital, take everyone hostage, then get our freedom. I haven't worked out all the details yet but thats the gist of it," she says cooly.
The room is silent.
"Well am I talking to a bunch of imbeciles?! Did you not want freedom! Did you not ask for independance!" Mia snaps.
"We...actually quite like it here Mia...the way it is," Chekov says softly.Mia looks at Alec in a state of shock and disbelief.
The group mumbles between each other. They had gotten used to the lack of midnight meetings and mingling around each other. To break away from this utopia, to start rebellion, it seemed wrong all of a sudden.
"Look are you guys in or out? We're still just a project to them," Mia said with disgust.
"In," they all said.
"Good, we meet back the day after tomorrow then we go into Operation Rebellion."
They drift away silently.
"So a rebellion?" Jack says confused to Cas.
"That's what our nameless group has always wanted, freedom, pretty much," Cas shrugs.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
And Cas went to sleep that night grinning like an idiot.
Homecoming. The Two Suite floor wasn't open yet. The school hallways only had the emergency lights on with the gates up. The cafeteria was crowded with students. Holiday lights hung above the dimly lit gym hallway and the inside of the gym had a blue tarp thrown across with a stage set up at the back and lights spun all over the dark room.
The girls in the House had finished getting ready for the dance unlike the guys whom had finished an hour before them. Cas took one last look of herself in the mirror. It was a seafoam green strapless dress that reached a few inches above her knees.
"C'mon lets go everyones waiting," Mia said sticking her head in the door.
"Alright I'm coming!" Cas said.
With that the two girls walked down to the foyer where everyone was waiting. They departed towards the school.
Hazel stood awkwardly in the back unsure of where to go. The Sirens were doing various songs entertaining the students. Makoto was definetly sounding better than she had a month ago,"Hey," a familiar voice spoke up.
Hazel turned to her left seeing Aaron.
"Hi," she said.
"Dance?" he asked.
"I'll pass, I'm not one for grinding."
"Fair enough."
She walked out of the gym towards the cafeteria leaning against the railing of the top floor.
