"Why do you have to do this to me?" I shout, closing my eyes as the wind harshly blows against my skin.

"Why?" I sob, letting my body fall on the grass covered ground. I lie down, letting the ground and everything around me sink in. I'm so close to breaking down, so close to giving up.

"Caleb?" I hold my breath, hearing her soothing voice ring around my ears like honey. I sniffle, letting my tears subside.

"Caleb, what happened?"

"N- nothing." I croak, my voice cracking as my throat hurts. I turn towards the voice already knowing who it is.

"Okay . . . Hey you seem a little down, wanna walk around town for a bit?" Hannah smiles sympathetically, inching closer towards me.

"Yeah sure just let me tell my mom. Okay Hannah?" I smile appreciatively to her. She knows I don't want to talk about it anymore. She nods as I take out my phone.

After three rings my mom picks up.

"Hey baby, what's up?" Her sweet voice says through the phone.

"Hi mom, is it ok if Hannah and I'd go around town?"

"Yeah sure just be back a little after 5, okay?"

"Perfect. Thanks mom!" I put the phone down and smile to Hannah, who was listening the whole time.

"Alright lets go?" I smile at her.

Hannah and I were walking down my street, I guess it's good that we live close to each other, going home. We were so relaxed but then again, this one specific group of people had to ruin it.
(Guess who?) If you guessed Paps then you're right.

These stupid people with their stupid cameras and their stupid questions.

"Hey Caleb how are you and your mom doing?"

"Caleb who's this mystery girl?" Thats right I haven't introduced her to the paps yet.

"Hey girl, has Katy welcomed you to the family?!"

"Caleb who's your father?!" Now that caught me off guard. I don't know what happened after that. I just couldn't hold it in anymore.

"WHY DO YOU CARE?!? OH THATS RIGHT CAUSE YOU'RE ALL DICKS WHO DO THIS FOR MONEY!!" I yell in his face and turn to all the other paps.

Hannah tugs at my arm silently telling my to go inside my house. I run in now noticing I had tears streaming down my face.

{Katy's POV}

I hear the front door slam indicating that Caleb was home.

"Hey baby I was thinking that w-" I stop in mid sentence seeing my son's tear stained face "- Oh my god Caleb what happened baby?"

"They asked about him." He yelled. I swallow hard, the familiar feeling starts coming up again.

"Who asked about who?" I ask, still oblivious to what he's saying.

"THE PAPS ASKED ABOUT MY DAD!!"

After that he lost it. He started punching the walls and yelling out in pain. My breathing hitches as his behavior reminds me of his father's.

{FLASHBACK}

I walk into Matthew's house because he called me to come over. I open the front door to see a very drunken Matt come running up to me. Well I say running but it was more like stumbling.

He has been depressed for the last few days. You see, Matthew was an astounding musician, writing lyrical masterpieces with that angelic voice and extraordinary talent in playing the guitar. He was a huge name in the music industry, known for his talent. But then, he changed. He became an alcoholic since his fiancé broke up with him which sent him to rehab. When he got out though, his record label signed him off saying his career in music should cease because of his addiction. Now that he tried to get into a contract again-- trying to give music another shot and stop the addiction, they won't let him.

"KATE! I'm so glad you're here." He slurred.

"Matt what happened? Why are you drinking again? I thought you'd stop!"

"YOU KNOW WHY, THE FUCKING RECORD LABELS ARENT SIGNING ME ANYMORE AND IM JUST-- I'VE HAD IT, KATHERYN."

Matthew starts yelling and punching the walls.

I sigh, knowing how to stop his rain of destruction. I walk over to Matt and hug him until he stops and his breathing slows. I close my eyes tightly, never letting go even when he tries to escape. I tighten my grip around his waist, determined to make him stop.

"I love you Katy." He says, the anger that once dominated him slowly evaporating.

"I love you too Matt." I reply with all honesty. I smile as he turns around, pulling me into a hug as he places his soft lips on my forehead.

{END OF FLASHBACK}

I sigh and walk over to Caleb hoping my way with Matt works on him.

I hug him forcefully until he stops yelling and thrashing around. I close my eyes as I do the exact same thing I did with his father, memories flashing through my mind. His breathing slows as he calms down.

Thank God that worked.

"I love you, mom." Caleb says. I can feel my heart swell. I can here the sincerity in his sentence.

"I love you too, Caleb."
