I watched, confused as the girl, Grace Hart, sped away in her car.
"Whoa. What was that?"
I turned, my face still wincing in pain. Hunter, with a look of his own confusion and curiousness on his face, stepped towards me. He looked me up and down slowly then set his face back on my pained one.
"Was that...Amanda Hart?"
I staggered towards him, still hurting. "Her sister." I answered, although it sounded more like a weak gasp.
"She has a sister?" A look of intrigue and interest now on his face. "Wow, I really thought dreams like that didn't come true." I rolled my eyes, something I always did when Hunter made a bad joke.
"How do you know Amanda Hart? She transferred here like a month ago." I questioned Hunter.
"The same way you know her." Hunter grinned and shot me a cheesy wink, as he was obviously referring at how many times Amanda has gotten into bed with guys. "Didn't know she had a sister, though. I call dibs."
"Yeah, well, Amanda Hart's 'super hot sister,'" I paused, putting air quotes around the phrase, 'super hot sister'. "She kind of kicked me in the..." I motioned my crotch as Hunter started to snicker.
"Yeah, this dream got even better." He chuckled, slapping my back.
"Shut up." I scoffed.
"I didn't know Hart had a sister. Grace, right?" Hunter asked me, leaning against his car door.
"Yeah," I shrugged, stuffing my hands in my pockets. "She isn't all like her sister though." I trailed off on the word, 'though' as a group of girls walked by. A tall, brunette girl walked by and giggled as I winked at her, before running back to her friends.
"You are too much." Hunter laughed as I admired the girl's curves then turned back to him.
"I know." I grinned, taking pride in Hunter's sentence. "But like I said about the Hart girl, she isn't anything like Amanda."
Hunter opened his mouth to shoot a retort, before closing it again. I could tell he was processing something before he opened his mouth again. "I bet you couldn't get with her if you tried."
I frowned, then crossed my arms, putting myself in a defensive stance.
"What do you mean?"
"Like, she isn't like all the others. You probably couldn't get with her if you tried." I could tell Hunter was trying to egg me on.
"Yeah, I could." I declared, defensive. An idea popped up in my head as I raised an eyebrow. "At least, for a price."
"Typical." Hunter scoffed. "Fine, well, I bet you one hundred bucks to try to get with her, and date her for two months. Then you break her heart, like you do with the others."
"Date?!" I exclaimed, a little too loud. "Sorry, Hunt. I don't do dates."
"Well, do you want that hundred dollars or not?" Hunter rolled his eyes and gave me a look.
"Fine, I guess, but break her heart? Really, Hunter?" I tried to reason with him.
Grace was different. She seemed fragile, someone you wouldn't mess with. I tried messing with her, and look where that led me.
"What do you mean? It's the same with all the other ones."
I frowned as Hunter considered the girls I had got with, 'ones.' I hesitated before answering.
"I don't know, she seems different." I answered, not knowing if really had to do with our conversation.
Hunter gave me an impatient look. "Look, do you want to do it or not?"
I thought about it. Grace...was really different. She won't give in like the rest of them do.
"Fine."
"Deal?"
"Deal."
