"I'm a born singer, a little belated confession. I swear." I immediately pick my phone up, and press it against my ear. "Hello?" I speak into the mic.
"Sonagi!" Cheers an excited voice. The voice belongs to my best friend, Kim Soo Mi. I first met Soo Mi six years ago, and we've been best friends ever since. We do practically everything together, because that's how close we are.
"What's up?" I ask.
"Well..." Soo Mi begins, drawling the word. "I got tickets to the new movie that came out on Friday, do you wanna come?" "It'll be fun, I promise." Soo Mi adds quickly.
"Of course," I answer. "And don't worry, I know it'll be fun, especially since you'll be there."
"Aww, thanks, Sonagi." Soo Mi coos.
"Is there anyone else coming, or is it just us?" I inquire, desperately hoping that it'll just be the two of us.
My stomach flips at Soo Mi's reply: "Minseok's coming too, of course, silly." Soo Mi giggles.
Let me rephrase my earlier sentence. We used to do everything together, alone. "Oh, okay." I say quietly. "Bye, I gotta go now, my lunch shift is ending."
"See you tomorrow, at xxx cinema."
"See you tomorrow."
I lie my phone down on my bed, and sigh emptily, because in actuality, I don't have work today.
