Josh stood proudly as his best friend, tyler, looked lovingly into his fiancées eyes and said his vows.
"Jenna, you are the light when my world is dark, and your smile shines brighter than the sun. The moment I laid eyes on you, i saw your beauty, not only in your appearance, but the beauty of your soul. If you weren't on this earth, id be alone forever, because you are the only person for me. I truly cannot express how excited i am to spend the rest of my existence with the only woman who is perfect in every way. I love you jenna," tyler spoke, passion filling every word. A tear trickled down Josh's cheek, and the people around him quietly assumed it was because he was so happy for tyler and jenna. Wrong. Josh's heart was silently shattering into a million pieces because he secretly had feelings for jenna. Nobody knew about his secret, and Josh knew he could never do anything about it.
Jenna said her vows and the second they each said "i do," they kissed, at last signifying their marriage. Josh had to look away when this happened. He couldn't bear watching the girl he loved place her life into another man's arms; his best friend's arms. After what seemed like forever, the kiss ended, and tyler wrapped his arms around Jenna in a hug. Josh's heart burned and he felt dizzy. Tyler put jenna down and she happily glanced at her bridesmaids, then at josh. He awkwardly smiled as she laughed with joy and kissed tyler again. The claps and cheers of the audience seemed to be ringing in josh's ears. He knew he needed to get out of there, but he dared not disrespect his best friend at his wedding. The second tyler took jenna's hand and walked off, josh bolted for the bathroom. He needed water and time to cool off. Time to think.
tyler happily squeezed jenna's hand, enjoying every second they were touching. He was so unbelievably amazed that he had snagged such a dime piece wife. As their walking slowed, Tyler took a few moments to look Jenna up and down. "You look so beautiful, Jenna.  I can't even comprehend how one person could hold so much perfection on their tiny, delicate, shoulders," he whispered as he walked around her, hugging her from behind. Jenna looked down at the floor while blushing at Tyler's compliment. She breathed in deeply, fully taking in the scent of tyler in his snazzy suit.
Breaking away from his hold, she replied, "I could be asking the same question about you, baby. How did I manage to get the most caring, loving, funny, handsome man to put a ring on my finger?"  The two didn't take notice of the people spilling into the room, as she was locked into tyler's deep brown eyes while he was swimming in her ocean blues. Only when tyler heard his own music being played on the radio did he look away at the DJ, who winked at him and nodded. Jenna was practically shouting the lyrics along with everyone else, praising her husband's music. He was very flattered and wanted to enjoy this moment with his best friend.
"Have you seen josh?" tyler inquired, searching the flood of people. Jenna shook her head.
"Maybe he went to the bathroom? i mean it was a long ceremony," she suggested. Tyler nodded then darted off. In the bathroom tyler was greeted by a panting josh. He was breathing heavy and quickly and his hands were grasping the sink counter. His head was down and his eyes were closed; his body seemed to be shaking.
"Josh, buddy, what's wrong? are you okay?" tyler managed to ask while quickly rushing over. Tyler was met with silence, so he patted josh's back and asked again what was wrong, if he was having a panic attack, if he got bad news, etc. Josh looked up at tyler questioningly and faked a smile and a noise tyler heard as an awkward laugh, shook his head and said nothing was wrong, in which tyler replied "i'm not stupid josh, what's going on? you should be out with me and jenna dancing and having fun."
"Just a little anxious, that's all. needed a breathe away from everyone. why i chose the bathroom, i don't really know. but anyways, uh, yeah sure i'll come out now," josh explained to tyler. What he failed to mention is that his heart was just broken and he's surprised he's not crying. He failed to mention that he might choke up if he is forced to face Jenna on her wedding day, her wedding day with someone other than himself, his best friend. Josh keeps these emotions inside and follows tyler back out with the crowd.
After about 5 minutes, the two boys located Jenna and approached her. Tyler's face was painted with an expression of awe at her beauty, while josh failed to look her direction; he was staring at his shoes. "Well there he is!" Jenna exclaims when she takes notice of josh's presence. She pulls josh into a quick friendly hug, patting his back ; josh struggles to put an arm around her, because to him, it feels so right, but wrong all at once.
"Uhh," josh mutters, "congrats you guys." Tyler knew his best friend, and he could see the discomfort on his face. although this day was about him and jenna, he wasn't going to let josh continue to be uncomfortable, so he quickly dashed to the dj, requesting the song trees, as he knew that was one josh couldn't resist dancing and just being happy.  Josh managed to make small talk with jenna, when finally, the song started playing. Tyler made it back in time to see the pleasantly surprised smile appear on his face. Through the length of the song, josh was able to forget his worries and just dance with his best friends he's known for so long.
"Hey, imma go grab some chocolates, you guys want anything while i'm by the food?" Jenna offers, slowly walking away. The boys shake their heads, and she walks off. Josh was thinking about food, then an idea popped into his head. His face lit up as he ditched tyler without explanation and ran over to the DJ. Tyler was confused, but he was so into the music he barely noticed. For a second, the music stopped and tyler got a serious but confused look on his face because he was really feeling it, but then, only a few seconds into the next song, he knew very well what was happening. As josh sprinted back, they exchanged glances and, at once, started shouting the infamous words.
"FAST FOOD, GREASY, TACO I LOVE! FOOD LIKE THIS CAN ONLY COME FROM ABOVE!" the boys sung in unison, pure happiness shining on their faces. for the next few hours, jenna returned and the three, along with other companions passing by, got lost in the music and food and very soon, the night was over. Josh was shocked he made it through without too much trouble, but relieved. The guests started to slowly leave, and when only tyler, josh, and jenna remained, they decided it was time for them to go home as well. Jenna and tyler entered the limo they had rented for the day and offered josh a ride too, but he declined because he had already drove his car to the venue and didn't plan on leaving it there through the night. The three quickly said goodbye, and when the limo door shut, josh walked away to his car, not bothering to watch them drive away. Upon entering his car, josh found himself in a lost state, not sure what to do. It was as if he couldn't really move; he couldn't push his arms to the steering wheel to drive home. Sitting in the quiet of the night, josh looked around and pondered the events of the day, and the events to come in the future. He didn't know what to expect, so each idea flashed for maybe a second before a knew one replaced it. Josh was scared, and he didn't like it, so he shook his head and forced himself to drive home. The night finally came to an end.
