"I don't understand why she hasn't shifted back into human form, surly she's more comfortable that way" someone mumbles. I keep my breathing normal, where am I?

"Maybe she prefers the wolf form, feels more prepared?" another says, Chris?

"I have never seen an injured wolf stay in wolf form, it makes our job so much more difficult. Has anyone figured out who she is yet?" the first man says. There's nothing, just silence, my heartbeat picking up. Do they know who I am? I can hear someone breathing close to me, feel their eyes watching me. "No idea, won't know until she changes. Come on guys, go and get some air, entertain the pups or something" the first man says, then there's some shuffling and a door closes shut. The man closest to me doesn't move though, how am I going to get out if he keeps watching me? I try to relax, feeling my body tensing already. The soft material beneath me helps, it must be a bed, a big one too, I'm not that small of a wolf. I wait for about ten minuets, hoping he'll leave or move, but he doesn't, just stays still. I need to move, there's only this one, I can take him if I need to. I open my eyes and sit up, startling him. He stands up quickly, knocking his chair over. I move away from him, to the other side of the room, a bedroom. I can see the door in the corner, the one he's standing in front of. There's also a window, but I doubt I'm on the first floor of the premises. He stands there, his arms spread wide. I growl at him, but he doesn't move. I lower my body to the bed, and he lowers his arms. I jump, landing on his chest. He releases a sharp breath, I've hurt him, now's my chance to run, but I don't. I step off of him, towards the door, but I don't leave. He sits up, resting his hand on his chest and trying to breath. When he finally gets his breath back he looks at me. Well, I think he was expecting to look at an open door, so when he sees me shock covers his face. My ears twitch back, someone's coming. Little footsteps come towards the room, they stop at the door. The door swings open, knocking into me and pushing me forward. I shuffle to the other side of the room, out of the way.

"Uncle Cole!" a kid shouts as she giggles and tumbles into the room. She lands into the mans arms and claps, happy he caught her. "Daddy said we can play outside!" she squeals. The man seems uncomfortable, he looks towards me and stands up. "Who's that?" the kid mumbles quietly. Cole. That's what she said, his name must be Cole. Cole puts the kid down and she walks slowly towards me. I shuffle away, bumping into something. I look, it's another door. I peek inside, it's a bathroom. I crawl in before the kid can get near me, then shift quickly. As soon as I can I reach for the handle and pull it shut, twisting the lock to make sure she can't get in. She can't touch me. I huddle on the floor, the cold air raising goose bumps on my arms and legs. There's a dressing gown hanging on the back of the door, I pull it on, then stand up. So much for escaping. The kid bangs on the door, giggling. Dark blue eyes flash through my mind. A little boys laugh. No, I can't think about it.

"Are you ok?" someone calls, no, not someone, that's him, Cole. I don't respond, he can't know I'm upset.

"What's going on?" someone asks, a woman, she sounds tired.

"Nothing, go back to your room" Cole tells her sternly.

"No way, who's in the bathroom?" the girl says, seeming bored.

"Don't worry about it, now go away" he tells her.

"No, did she wake up? Where is she?" sounding more interested now.

"Yeah it's her" he says, twisting the handle.

"Is she going to come out? Or have you scared her? And why is Milly in here?" She asks, I can hear the kid, bouncing quietly to herself on the bed.

"It doesn't matter, take Milly out and go away" he says, a hint of annoyance in his voice. Someone moves towards the door, then there's a couple of knocks.
