Lee Donghae didn't know what to expect as he was led to his new dorm. His last roommate, Cho Kyuhyun, had requested a transfer because apparently, Donghae snored too loudly. Silently, he followed behind the floor manager and waited for him to open the door.
Lee Hyuk-jae knew he was getting a roommate. He just wasn't happy about it. He didn't share a room, ever. Hyuk-jae wasn't the type of person to be messed with. Everyone at Seoul Boarding School knew it. You didn't screw up his way of doing things. You just didn't. Hyuk-jae was ready to yell at the floor manager when the door opened, but the sight of his roommate distracted him. He'd heard of Lee Donghae. Hell, everyone had. But with what he'd heard of him, he expected the other male to be wimpy and small. He wasn't. Lee Donghae was all muscle with shaggy brown hair that just barely brushed his broad shoulders. His startling brown eyes were staring down at the floor.
"Lee Donghae." Hyuk-jae spoke, his voice taking on a rough and disinterested tone as he stood and stepped towards him.
"P-please. Call me D-Donghae."
"Well then, Donghae, call me Eunhyuk." Hyuk-jae smirked as Donghae looked up at him for the first time.
Donghae's brown eyes widened as he took in the sight of his new roommate. The male was tall, muscled, and had a head full of bright blonde hair. His face was angular. Narrow, but not in a bad way. His lips and eyes were his most prominent features. For some reason, he reminded Donghae of a hawk that just caught sight of its prey. Himself being the prey. Gulping, he gave a slight bow of his head in acknowledgement.
"E-Eunhyuk-ah." He spoke softly, trying to be polite.
Eunhyuk narrowed his eyes. He knew Donghae was younger than him. By at least two years. Crossing his arms, he eyed the smaller boy with slight annoyance.
"To you, it would be Eunhyuk-hyung. You're younger than me. By two years at least Donghae-ah."
Donghae felt his face redden in embarrassment. How could he have forgotten that? Now that they'd been introduced, he realized that Eunhyuk was older than him. Everyone knew Hyuk-jae was a third year student at SBS.
"I-I apologize, Eunhyuk-hyung." Donghae whispered quietly.
"Much better. Now. There are some rules. I made them the moment I heard I was getting a roommate. I don't usually have one you see. Anyway. Rule number one. You stay on your side of the room, got it? No invading my space. Rule number two. Keep your area clean. I don't want it to look like I'm rooming with a complete pig. Rule number three. I get first dibs on everything. Shower, bathroom, everything. Being the younger of us, and the newbie, means you get second best. Always. Understood? And last but certainly not least, rule number four. Leave me alone. I don't plan on making friends with someone who isn't even supposed to be in my room. So none of that "Eunhyuk-hyung" shit whenever you see me outside of the dorm. I have an image to uphold after all. Got it all kid? I don't want a little punk ruining my reputation."
Nodding quickly, Donghae bowed his head again to show he understood.
"Ya' gonna stand there all day kid? You're on my side."
Donghae picked up his bags and headed to the other side of the room, placing them on the small twin bed. He eyed the dresser in the middle of the room.
"Don't even think about it. That's mine."
With a sigh, Donghae looked to the other side of his bed. There was another dresser, but it was visibly smaller. He gave a small grunt of disapproval, but proceeded to put away most of his clothes in the small dresser, Eunhyuk watching the entire scene with amusement.
Standing there, Donghae looked around the room again. He looked so flustered and confused, that Eunhyuk couldn't help but laugh at him which caused Donghae's face to flush a deeper shade of crimson.
Standing, Eunhyuk quietly stepped behind the flustered male. Reaching around him, he grabbed the stack of clothes from Donghae's hands.
Donghae jumped forward, startled by the sudden close contact. He turned around to snatch his clothes back from Eunhyuk, but he had already stepped around him and was placing the neat stack onto a shelf that Donghae must have overlooked when he'd scanned the area.
"T-thank you, Eunhyuk-hyung." He bowed his head once again in thanks.
Eunhyuk grunted, rolling his dark eyes at Donghae. He strode over to his bed and sprawled across it, hands locked behind his head.
"Quit bowing your head like that. It's fucking annoying. You got a complex or something?"
"N-no..."
"Then knock it off. It's irking my nerves."
Donghae nodded, walking over to his own bed and sitting on the edge of it. He stared down at the wooden floor and sighed heavily. The year was going to be a long one. That was for sure.
