Stolen Souls

Part 1- Chapter 2

I hopped off the bus, landed on the asphalt with a tiny "smack". Immediately, Fernando walks up to me.
"Hey Carter? You have to tour around that new guy, right?"

"Um yeah why?"

"Cause I just found out that you will be touring around a girl."

"Wait what?! I thought that only girls can show around girls."

"Apparently she wanted a guy to show her around."

"Um okay then."
I walk away from Fernando and into the school. I twist and turn between the sea of kids until I reach the main office.

"Carter, this is Sonia. You will be showing her around today." Ms. Brodsky says.

I take one look at her. She is wearing a maroon sweatshirt with these pants that look like jeans but in reality aren't. Her curly dark brown hair falls onto her shoulders. She has these piercing blue eyes that when they stare into you, you feel as if knifes are flying into your eyes. Her skin almost shines in the sun, it's a mix between olive and tan. But probably the thing that disturbs me the most is her lips. They look as if she smeared blood on top of them. 

"Hello, Carter." She says with this insanely calm voice.

"Um...Hello... I'm Carter, I'll be showing you around..." I stuttered. What was wrong with me? I'm usually so... smooth. But... this girl... Sonia... Is something else...

"Is there a music program?" Sonia asks. 

"Yeah, um would you like to see the Orchestra room or the Band room?" I ask.

"Actually, I was wondering if there was a Chorus room." 

"Yeah there is, that one of your electives?" 

"Now that I think about it, yes, I love to sing and I happen to be good at it too. Would you like to hear?" Sonia asks.

"Um sure—" 

"HEY CARTER IS THAT THE NEW GIRL??" Gerald screeches. 

He talks WAY too loud.

"Yeah! Sorry Sonia, I'll hear you sing later." 

"Oh that's fine." She says with this cute smile on her face. 

I curse under my breath. Wow. Thanks a lot, Gerald. 

"Do you know how to get to the rest of your classes?" 

"I'll figure it out." She smiles then walks away.

So much for being the perfect tour guide. It will only be a matter of time before a guy will get to her. I'll have to act quick but something seems... off about her.
