A song you listen to when you're sad ->
Depth over distance every time, my dear
And this tree of ours may grow tall in the woods,
But it's the roots that will bind us here,
To the ground

Ivory laughed as Ben grabbed her hand, pulling her through the thick woods. It was nearing night, but both didn't care as they stumbled past dozens of trees, enjoying each other's company.
"Are we there yet?" Ivory asked, the blindfold over her eyes blocking her view. Ben squeezed her hand as he kept on pulling his girlfriend forwards, letting out a laugh.
"Yes, my dear Ivory, we are almost there. You're so impatient." He said with a smile she couldn't see but knew it was there. She knew Ben just too well, and he did her.
"I know, I know. I'm just so excited, you know?" She said, holding his hand tightly. "Ow, Ben! That was a branch!"
Ben apologized sheepishly, as he hadn't been paying attention to the branches as much as looking at her instead. He was going to miss her, that was for sure. So much.
They walked on for a few minutes, before Ben tugged at her hand enthusiastically. "We're there!" He said. Ivory's hands went up to release herself from the blindfold, dropping his hand, but he quickly grabbed both to prevent her from doing so. "Ah, ah! Not yet, Ivy. I need to do something real quick, so just stay there, okay? Promise?"
Ivy let out a joking sigh, but promised nonetheless, obeying her boyfriend. As she heard Ben rummage through some stuff, she tried not to think about how much she would miss him. Would he miss her the same? They had met at the beginning of summer, and though it seemed short term, Ivy had fallen head over heels for the cute boy. He was everything she could have wished for and more, but now they both were going off to college in different states, and she was afraid he would forget about her.
Quickly replacing her sad thoughts with happy ones, she waited for Ben to finish whatever he had been doing. When the noise suddenly ended and she felt a presence next to her, she knew it was done, and let her hands move to the black blindfold eagerly again.
"Ivory, would you stop that?" Ben said teasingly, "I'll take it off for you, okay?"
Ivory nodded, and a few seconds later she felt two hands on the back of her head where the knot was and a warm chest pressed against her back. With a few short tugs the knot became undone, but the blindfold stayed in its place. As it was slowly removed, two warm hands replaced it, still taking away Ivory's sight.
"Okay, close your eyes. Like, really close them." Ben said, and Ivory considered keeping them open before deciding to let them flutter shut instead. Slowly, the hands were removed from her face, revealing her closed eyes.
Ben stared at her for a second, before moving a few steps back and telling Ivory she could open her beautiful eyes. They carefully opened, and widened at what she saw. There, in the middle of the woods she had spent most of her summer, was a clearing sparkling with strings of light hanging over the branches surrounding it. In the middle was a blanket spread out over the grass, a few unlit candles around it. A basket with what she presumed was food was standing on the blanket, a bottle of wine next to it. A grey radio was playing some soft tunes at the edge of the clearing, a brown guitar lying on the grass. Then, her eyes flicked to the hopeful face of her boyfriend, who had arranged all of this for her. The sun was about to disappear behind the trees, making a soft glow appear over his features. She stuttered out a few words before finding actions speak louder than words and flinging her arms over his neck, pressing her soft lips to hers. They stand there for a moment before he pulls away, a slightly dazed look on his face. "So I take it you like it?" he says. Ivory still can't find the words to express herself, so she presses her lips against his yet again.
