Love Sucks

Chapter 1

It all started after school at about 9:00. It was a Friday night. The full moon hung heavily above my head. I was wandering through the forest that outlined our small town. I was spending my time isolated from others to think about the occurrence in math class. A new student had arrived; he was deathly pale with jet black hair. I had thought nothing of him until he flashed me a smile. That's when I spotted a sharp canine glitter in the light. Then, ironically, he was seated next to me. He had vibrant green eyes. His name was Alex. He was actually very smart. We worked together on homework and projects. We became the best of friends over a period of 1 semester. Before the second semester could start, we visited Alex's lake house over winter break. We went ice skating on a slippery frozen pond. Once, I fell and as he tried to catch me he fell, too, but he cushioned my fall. And when he gazed into my eyes I got this warm and fuzzy feeling in my stomach. And all of a sudden, love came to mind.

Apparently he thought this was awkward, because he immediately pulled me up and went inside. We spent the rest of the week building a village of snowman.
