Uncovering your layers

Several groans and a yell startles Magdelena.She exits her room and heads down the corridor to investigate where the noise is coming from.With every step she takes,the pounding in her head seems to get worse.

She peers in the doorway and her eyes land on a topless Damien,he's panting uncontrollably as he holds his head between his hands.He wriggles under Titan and a Willows grip as they try and hold him down.

Titans dark eyes flash over to look into Magdelenas and within no time he stands towering over her,which sends a shiver down her spine.He pushes her up against the door and she gulps as sweat rolls over her brow.

"What happened to him?" Titan growls

"I...I don't know" She huffs trying to regain her confidence and hide the burning fear inside her

"Titan.. leave... her" Damien pleads between groans.

Magdelenas eyes bore into Titans

"This is all your fault" Titan shoves her into the door before walking away sending a shooting pain down her back.

"It was the wolves Titan" Damien explains

"Wolf venom" Willows pupils enlarge as she gently pushes her wet cloth on the puncture wounds in his shoulder

"Urgh" Titan growls.Magdelenas eyes slam shut as he punches a hole in the door beside her head before storming out.Magdelena slowly opens her eyes and relief washes over her as she realises Titan has gone.

"I'm sorry I" Magdelena stutters,shaking in fear

"It's not your fault" Willow sighs

Magdelena walks over to Willow and notices the black tired rings around her eyes.Her ratty hair dangles down her back,she looks exhausted.

"May I help?" Magdelena offers

"Don't you think you've done enough damage?" Hugo appears from the doorway

"Shut up Hugo" Willow gives him the death stare as she pats Damien's head with a damp cloth.

"Sure,come on big mouth lets leave these to alone a second" Willow tells him,handing the damp cloth and bowl to Magdelena.

"You're leaving her alone with him,god knows what will happen" He rolls his eyes

"Hugo please" Willow asks placing her hand on the base of his back and ushering him out the door.

"Magdelena everything you need is in the cupboard" Willow points

Willow turns back to face Magdelena giving her an apologetic smile and scooping loose strands of her hair behind her ears,before closing the door behind her.

Magdelena takes a seat beside Damien on the bed.She carefully dabs the cloth in the water and gently runs it along Damien's forehead.His hand reaches out to her as blue veins pop out of his wrist.She gulps for a second before threading her fingers in his.He gives her a gently smiles as she continues to wipe the sweat from his brow.

For some reason her burning headache has subsided as she stares into his gentle eyes.She runs her fingers over his head,moving the wet hair stuck to his face and spiking it up,

Several coughs rattle from his chest.

Her cold hands touch his cheek,running her thumb along his bottom lip before planting her hand to caress his cheek.

"What's going to happen to you?"She asks

"It's just a scratch,nothing to worry about" He sighs placing his hand over hers.

"Why do I get the impression you're lying?" She questions her eyes focussing on his dark ones,grey rings run around them.

"Why do you care?" He asks

"Change of heart I guess,I'm bored of being horrible to people who have looked after me I guess" She huffs

"Dark Magdelena,has a change of heart" He laughs soon squinting his eyes from pain that runs across his ribs.

"Shhh" She hushes him,don't laugh" She gently smiles

She removes her hand from his face and stands up,she gently moves her hand behind his neck and moves his pillows,making him more comfortable before lowering his head back down.

"Thank you" He mouths

She returns to sit in the bed next to him and holds his hand.His eyes flutter and change from black to green.

His breathing becomes heavier and as each moment passes by he seems to become even more tired.

"Your eyes just changed colour,were they green before you became a vampire?" She asks

He simply nods

"You're dying aren't you" She comments

He gulps and looks away from her as his pupils dilate.

"Please Damien look at me" She whispers,turning his chin to look into hers again.

"I'll be fine" He lies

"Are you dying,yes or no?" Her voice sterns

He huffs for a moment before speaking "Yes" He huffs

She stands up off the bed and walks towards the window and the curtains open swiftly without her touching them.Damien jumps and blocks his face with his arm.She looks out onto the garden as tears pool at her eyes.

"Are you crazy?" He snaps

She closes her eyes in frustration and lets the tears fall.

"I've put a shield from daylight on the house" She speaks as her voice quivers,not bothering to look back at him.

"Are your crying?" He sighs

Silence fills the room

"Why?" He questions

"Because I care okay,I don't know why I just do" She snaps turning on her heels to face him as she wipes the tears from her eyes with the back of her hand.

"Someone doesn't just wake up from hating the world and suddenly start caring" He growls

"Damien please just except the fact that I care,I don't know why and I hate this myself.My heart pounds out of the chest every time I see you" She explains

Damien stays silent for a moment,observing her as she bites her nails nervously.

Without warning she heads out the door,slamming it behind her.

She rushes down the stairs and hooks her rucksack over her shoulder.She rushes to the front door
