With or without you

One last gasp for air and Dexter falls to the floor.

Damien releases his hands "Move away from the door Magdelena" Damien asks

She looks over at the guard and he nods,telling her to do as she's asked.She does as she's told and slowly backs away from the door.

Several kicks at the door and it splits into pieces.

Damien's bruised and battered face comes into view and his fangs come out as he lays eyes on the guard with his gun up to her temples.

"Touch him and she dies" The other guard threatens

"Kill her I don't care" Damien spits

"Fine" The guard smirks,clicking the safety catch on the gun.

Magdelena grasps a key in her hand and lunges her arm back stabbing it in the guards stomach.

The guard stumbles back and the bang from the gun sounds bouncing the bullet on the floor,Damien grabs Magdelenas hand and shielding her face as the bullet bounces off the ways and makes a ting sound as it blows the light.The bullet finally descends down the floor and rolls at Damien's feet.

"You okay?" He questions

She simply nods

"Stand outside a second,I've just got to finish these to off" Damien says

"Okay,don't be long" Magdelena asks

"I won't" He simply smiles through the bruises and gashes on his lip. Damien closes the door and Magdelena leaves.Within a couple of seconds he snaps the two vampires necks and closes the door.

An alarm sounds and Damien grabs her hand and they interlock fingers.They run down the stares with Magdelena and hit the fire exit door.Damien pushes the handle but it doesn't budge.

He slams his shoulder into it several times but still no movement.

"You know funny thing is a security breach means every single door is on lockdown" A ladies voice comments

They spin around to see her piercing green eyes as she smooths the smudged red lipstick over her mouth.

"Why are you keeping us in here?" Damien demands

"Well it's simple really,word on the street your witch has something I want and secondly you killed two of my men" She announces

Damien pushes Magdelena back to stand behind him.

"None of your business Bella" Damien spits

"Oh but I think it is,the magic council are just a phone call away" She smirks

"What has Magdelena got that I haven't?" Bella questions

"I don't know what you're on about" Damien comments

"You love her Damien,I can see it in your eyes" Bella says

Magdelena digs around in her cloak as Damien connect his eyes with Bellas.Without warning Magdelena throws black dust at Bella.She falls to her knees and screeches as she holds her face and her eyes water.

Bellas faces begins to crack as red veins pop out.

"Come on" Magdelena grabs Damien's hand they step over Bella and run up the stairs and turn several corner.

They run down the corridor and turn corners before backing away and diverting due to guards everywhere they turn.

The turn down a final corner and are met by a dark wooden door.Damien twists the handle and it creaks opens.The two of them sigh in relief and they head down the dark steps.Damien flicks on the light switch of the cobwebbed basement.

They are soon met by a bolted wooden door.With a click Damien unbolt the door and with a hard push it opens.They step outside into the darkness and rejoin hands as they run through the forest aimlessly.Many shouting voices sound behind them but they don't dare look back.

Magdelena and Damien run up the hill,the voices behind them never dying down.They reach the top of the hill and continue to run.Panic sets in and Magdelenas heart pounds as they now stand on the edge of a cliff.

They turn to look behind them and a group of vampires with weapons are hot on their tail.

Damien peers over the cliff and watches the waves crash below them.

"Do you trust me?" Magdelena asks

"Doesn't look like we have any other choice but to jump" Damien comments

"Together then" Magdelena nods,taking in a deep breath.

Damien holds her hand tightly and nods.

"3" He counts down

"2" She counts

And with one they leap of the cliff into the freezing cold water.Under the water Magdelena points down wards.Damien nods still holding her hand and they hold their breath.They swim down to the deepest depths of the sea and Magdelena sprinkles sage in the water.

A burst of light erupts from her fingers and the water begins to spin creating a portal.Magdelena points towards the light and they swim towards it.They end up in the spin with the water,tumbling and rolling over.

They soon arrive washed up at the swamp.Magdelena pants as she dangles her wet hair on the grass.She furiously looks for Damien and her pounding chest slowly begins to subside as two strong arms scoop her up from the floor.

Her head leans into his chest listening to his unbeating heart and with every crunch of the leaves under his feet her eyes blink to close.She nestles her face as close as she can to his chest.His free hand strokes her wet hair that straggles over his arm.

He holds her with great comfort.She stirs in her sleep for a moment but doesn't wake up.After a long trek they finally arrive at the house.

Damien places Magdelena in her bed and nervously peels off her soaking clothes.He gently lifts her top over her head and leggings,tossing them on the floor.He takes a clean shirt out of the draw and slips it over her head,he places his hand on her back and pulls the sleeves over her arms and the top down her small frame.

He gently lays her down and she sighs in comfort.Damien kisses her in the forehead and she stirs in her sleep for a moment.

"No stop,get away from me!" Magdelena yells in the middle of the night.

A vampire in a dark cloak snaps Damien's neck and he falls the the floor.Veins pop ofut of her head and Magdelena sobs as she kneels beside him.She watches his body go dry and crack before turning to dust.

Her eyes snap open and she holds her pounding heart as she sits up.She searches the dark room for a moment and her panic calms when she realises it's just her.She wipes her wet cheeks,stained with tears.
