I altered it for comedic effect from this acrylic painting I did back in 1995(?) at San Francisco State University. The smile was done in Flash.
It's a comment on moving from traditional realism in art to simple cartoon art, and how much simpler it is, generally.
I haven't done any traditional painting since then since it's messy, expensive, and too difficult to stay in practice with. Still, it was fun at the time, and a good foundation.
