I'm at Kelly's hair salon treating myself to a little pampering because it's been a minute since I got my hair professionally done. If my hair is not in a ponytail for work, it's usually in a bun.
Kelly spun me around the chair so I can take a better look at myself.
"Ohhh Kels it's so healthy looking!" I ran my fingers through my hair and got closer to the mirror. She added highlights to my hair which I normally wouldn't do.
"All you needed was a little protein treatment and you were good to go. I'm surprised you even had time to come here Miss busy lady." She said. I laughed. I tried to pay her but she slapped my hand. She's a stickler for not allowing family to pay for their hair services.
"Girl it's that damn job. If they're not changing my hours to work more, they're just adding more off days for me. It's such a headache." I said.
"I hear you girl, but you gotta take it easy. Summer only has 1 parent alive and well." She gave me a reassuring smile.
"I know, I know. It's gonna take some time though." I said.
"You ready to grab lunch?" Kelly asked.
"Yeah."
We left in Kelly's car and rode to our favorite spot in the city. It's kind of a hidden BBQ joint, and has the BEST hot wings I've ever tasted. We walked right in to our favorite booth and waited for the waitress to hand us our drinks. We don't even have menus on the table because we always order the same thing and the staff knows us by name & order.
"So how's Summer doing in school? Every time I call her she's texting me back saying she's either in class or at work." Kelly said rolling her eyes.
"Girl don't feel no type of way cause she does the same to me. If she's not eating in the dining hall I wouldn't know what she's up to either." We both shook our heads and sipped our lemonades. The waitress brought our hot wings baskets.
"But guess who her roommate is?" I said.
"Who?" Kelly said half biting into one of her wings.
"Beyoncé and Jay-Z's daughter. Her name is Skylar." I said. Her eyes almost popped out.
"Girl for real? That's crazy as hell."
"I know right. I met the girl when the came for breakfast but it wasn't until they dropped Skye's car off one day that Summer found out herself."
"You met them yet?"
"No but I highly doubt that I will."
"Well you never know. When you do meet them, make sure I'm around. I love me some Sasha Fierce!"
We laughed and finished talking about random things.

Summer"Summer what's our topic for the project again?" I internally rolled my eyes before I looked over at Hailey.
"Hailey the paper is right in front of you, why are you asking me? You have eyes." I said.
It's me, Skye, Hailey, and Alex at the library working on our group project. We've only been working on it a few days, and I'm already annoyed by this group.
The project could literally take me and Skye a few hours to finish, but I'm trying to be a team player and work with these girls. They're making it difficult though.
Hailey definitely plays into the stereotype of dumb blondes who never had to work for anything in their life. I'm not even judging her because this is seriously how she acts. I sure as hell know she's judging me and I expected that. Her slick comments be pissing me off but she'll never catch a rise out of me.
Plus she's all under Skye trying to get her on Snapchat & Instagram to clout chase. Poor Skye is oblivious to this attention seeker. It's really just Hailey and not really Alex because she's really Hailey's follower. These girls are using Skye because of who she is to gain a little social media popularity and I can see it so clearly.
"Damn Summer I was just asking to make conversation." She rolled her eyes.
"Yea well anyways I gotta use the restroom, I'll be back." I got up to leave & grabbed my phone.
~~~~~
SkyeI watched KK get up to use the restroom and I grabbed my phone to check Twitter. There's always something happening there. I peeped Hailey looking over my shoulder and that actually bothered me. Why is she so close to me anyways. But didn't say anything, I just dimmed my phone and closed the app.
"So me and Hailey are going to a little kickback tomorrow and wanted to invite you." Alex said. She's real cool but she's so quiet half the time I forget she's here.
"Where will it be?" I asked. Contrary to popular belief, I've never been to a kickback before. Despite my upbringing, I was raised pretty sheltered and I never did "bad" things to disobey or disappoint my parents.
"It's at my friend's place, she's an upperclassmen but lived on campus. It'll probably be about 10 of us there." Hailey replied.
"Ummmm I don't know. I'll have to see if Summer is working if we'll go or not." I said. They scrunched up their faces.
"Why you gotta ask her, she's not invited." Alex said.
"Oh-kay." I said.
"So are you gonna come?" Hailey asked.
"I'll still have to think about it though." I replied
"Alright lemme know by tonight."
KK came back and we finished working on our project. Now that Summer isn't invited to the kickback, it makes want to attend even more.
******VOTE, COMMENT******
What do you think will happen at the kickback?
