Charity came into the room. When I saw her my heart broke. You could tell that she had been crying. She tried to smile and be brave but I could tell that it was an act. I knew I had to get over myself for the sake of my mate, I will not mess up this time killing my first mate and abusing my second I really have a way with mates. I hope I never have to tell her what I’ve done, she would leave me and the thought of that was painful.

“Charity.” She looked at me.

“I can't do this!” She cried before running from the room. Shit. I pulled the IV out and was about to go after her when Anna came into the room. I could tell that she was pissed off again. She glared at me looking cute, she really thought that she scared me.

“What the hell did you do this time? ” She asked while throwing her hands in the air.

“Nothing! I was about to apologize but she ran out.”

“Get back into the bed. NOW! I'll go get her and this time don’t let her leave.”

I went looking for Charity I knew where she would be.

“I'm not going back in there Anna it's too hard, what if he rejects me again? ”

"Don’t cry Charity, he wants to apologize. I’ve already given him a hard time. Now wipe your face and lets go.” She got up and followed me. I pushed into the room.

“Don’t try to run because I’m going to be right outside.”

Anna pushed me into the room. To say I was nervous was an understatement. I had butterflies and I was terrified of him rejecting me again. I don’t think I could go through that again, that’s the most humiliating thing ever. Was it the way I looked? I wasn’t the prettiest but I also wasn’t the ugliest.

“Come sit.” She was headed for the chair.

“No beside me.” She hesitated but I guess she saw the look on my face.

“I wanted to apologize. I rejected you due to my own issues, they had nothing to do with you.”

“Does this mean that you are accepting me?”

“Yes if you will forgive me.”

“Of course I will forgive you.”

“You should have made him squirm!” 

Anna yelled from the other side of the door. Anna managed to get Charity the evening off. As much as I wanted her to stay I had to get her out. I had a feeling that Monica was going to visit so I faked a yawn.

“Are you tired?”

“Yes. My head is hurting.”

“OK. Get some rest, I’ll see you in the morning.” I kissed her and let me tell you it was like nothing I ever felt.

“I’ll see you tomorrow.”

I got her to leave just in time because Monica came out of the bathroom.

“Any progress?” I couldn't tell her that I found my mate, she would use her against me.

“I’ve earned her trust. If everything goes well I should be moving into the pack house when I’m released.”

“Good. Don't screw this up! We need Ace to think that you guys are in love. He will catch you two in bed and I'll be there to pick up the pieces. We can't meet at the pack house, they have a protection spell that mother dearest cast.” She sneered.
