I was in he car with my mother. She was talking about how the new law about how gays have the right to vote offended her.
It was really hurt by the mean things she was saying. My mother is very religious and I wasn't. I was texting my girlfriend at the time she was talking. My mother thought she was just my best friend. Well really we have been friend ever since 3rd grade, but we have been dating for 2 years, I was 16 years old.
I really wanted to tell my mom about being a lesbian but I know she wouldn't accept me.
"Mom, does it really effect you that gays can get married?"
"Well not really, but I don't like it."
"Well it's not your life! IS IT!??"
   "YOUNG LADY, LOWER YOUR VOICE!"
I thought about it for a min and then I finally got the courage to tell her.
   "Mother. I'm gay...."
She just looked at me. She drove to my best friends house and said,
"Get out! I refuse to raise a gay child."
What she didn't know is that my best friend was my girlfriend.
"This is for letting me out at my girlfriends."
She just looked at me in discust, then she drove off.
