The Guardian

Not Finally Over

I wake up in my room. It's the Monday after Osana was felt with. I'm happily in a relationship with Oka, and all my friends were safe. Except for maybe Taro. But strangely, Ayano didn't confess yet.

I get up and get ready for school, when I see my phone buzz. I pick it up, it's a call.

You: "Hello?"
Ayano: "We have another problem."
You: "W-what?"
Ayano: "Another girl threatens to take my Senpai away from me. I know I said I'd let you go afterwards, and you don't have to, since our deal was done, but I could really use your help again."
You: "Who is it?"
Ayano: "The president of the Cooking club. A small quiet girl named Amai Odayaka."
You: "I'll see what I can do. I'll see you at school."

I get dressed and sigh. I grab my stuff and head out the door. Why must this always happen...? I meet up with Taro. He's happy for Osana and Budo, but I can see his sadness in losing his friend. I nudge him with my elbow.

You: "Chin up, bro. Maybe you'll get a date soon."
Taro: "Shut up."

We walk to school. He heads to his place on the fountain. I head to the occult club. Oka's in there alone. I sneak up and grab her. She jumps and slaps me.

You: "Ow..."
Oka: "I-I'm sorry!!! But you asked for that!"
You: "Yeah yeah... Hey listen."
Oka: "What?"
You: "I have some business with the cooking club, so I won't be around as often."
Oka: "Wh-what?"
You: "It's a long story. But I'll be done with them on Friday, okay?"
Oka: "Ok..."

She hangs her head. I gently pat her and smile. We hug, and we head to class together.
