Annabeth Chase ~ Athena Cabin
Not many people remember this instance, but this is the story of how Greek Curses are now banned here at camp (it's also in the orientation video if someone forgets).
Once, when I was nine years old, some of the older and gifted Apollo kids decided to curse the Ares Cabin so they could only speak rhymes, riddles, raps, and poems. So, during capture the flag, the "fun" began. I remember crouching near a tree, about to attack a daughter of Iris. The next thing I know, "Annabeth Chase, daughter of Athena, don't be surprised when I come over and cream ya. True I'm the son of Ares, here to squash your brother, how about later I come over and-" I couldn't let that 10 year old finish. So I punched him in the nose. With a sickening crack, he hobbled away, reciting Because I Could Not Stop for Death.
Later on that day during dinner, several of the girls took a microphone from the Apollo cabin and somehow managed to turn in on. That whole evening was filled with talks of their favorite poems and all while they weren't reciting poems, they rhymed their words.
However, our clever Chiron came up with a remedy. 4/5 of the Apollo cabin were put into their own infirmary. The wounded tended the wounded. Black eyes, broken bones, bruises, fractured tendons, and even more gruesome things occurred that following month. . .
I remember distinctly when Percy was claimed by Poseidon by the river, a child of Ares, one that was cursed with the rhyming, shivered and angrily whispered to me, "O Captain, my captain."
Therefore, if you ever decide to curse anybody here at camp, most likely you will be attacked by the Ares cabin, because they still aren't mentally over their curse and will beat anyone to a pulp if they try another curse on anybody.
