The secret vampire chapter 4- the first drink

Chapter 4- The first drink.

The first thing that hit me was my surroundings. We stood in front of the heavy carved doors looking out over a huge valley filled with lush green forest. The old castle we had just walked out of was embedded in the rock of a cliff face. I was standing on the verandah overlooking a straight drop. I stepped forwards letting my toes hang over the edge. My eyes followed the cliff face in a big circle that surrounded the entire valley.

The second thing that hit me was the different scents I could smell. Clean crisp air, I know im not in New York anymore. Fresh running water. The smell of different varieties of trees, pine, oak. And last of all the smell of beating blood from every animal a thousand meters away. I felt my fangs appearing inside my mouth reopening the cuts in my lower lip.

"Beautiful isn't it?" said Justin.

I suddenly became aware he was standing right next to me.

"Very" I replied. We just stood there for what felt like forever.

"Well you ready?" he said and before I could answer he shoved me with his hands over the edge of the cliff.

Falling... my heart was beating against my chest.

Falling... the wind sent my hair sailing behind me like like a humming birds wings.

Falling... the ground was getting closer and closer with every second.

Falling... I closed my eyes.

Falling... thud.

I landed in someones arms. I opened my eyes and was starring into the eyes of Justin.

"WHAT THE HELL" I yelled at him freeing myself from his grasp.

"Sorry I just thought you would want to have a little fun" he looked sheepish.

"YOU THINK PUSHING ME OF A CLIFF IS FUN?" my face was red and Justin started to laugh. "Well it is the only way down." he said still laughing. With that I glanced around. We were in the forest under a large canopy of trees. I looked up seeing only rock climbing higher and higher. I couldn't see the castle anymore.

"Since you're half vampire you can survive on human food. But to get your vampire side strengthened and ready for battle you will need to feed like you're a full breed vampire. Follow me" Justin took off at full speed I couldnt even see him he was a blurr.

I began to run trying to catch Justin. And then it happened. The world around me slowed and I was flying past the trees through multiple streams and when I finally caught up to Justin I saw he was standing so still like the first time I saw him. Then I saw what he was looking at. Three sleeping deer.

Something took over me. Because the next thing I know im on top of one of them. I can feel it moving, trying to get away but ive got it, trapping it firmly beneath me. It's heart is racing I can feel it. But that doesn't stop me. With one swift motion I sink my teeth into its neck.

The sticky red liquid exploded in to my mouth. The pain in my throat was almost instantly soothed. as the metallic taste washed through me. With every mouth full of blood I took from this animal I felt the life draining out of it. It began to stop moving as if it accepted its death. When I removed my teeth from its neck at looked at the now lifeless animal I began to feel sick. And for the third time in two days I felt the darkness take me.
