My father.... So many feelings were swirling around my heart and head. This is the man who broke my mothers heart. This is the man who left his family with nowhere to live, no money. He left us on the street, while he ran off with that woman from Vegas. When he told my mother he didn't love her and drove off, It was like my mothers world had ended. She was devastated, we soon began building our life again, rented an apartment in the city. On days when i was at school she got lonely. But I came home one day to find she had adopted a little baby boy, we named him Eric. I had so many questions to ask this man. I turned around in the direction the voice had come from.

There he was sitting at a desk at the end of the room. He wore a black suit. His hair was jet black like mine, but he had the same honey coloured eyes as Justin and his skin was pure white and he hasnt aged a day since last time I saw him.

"This is Mr Granger" Justin said looking at him like he was a god.

A smile spread across my fathers face.

"My little girl, its been to long" he stood up, walked over to me and wrapped his arms around me. I wasn't sure if i should hug him back. He still smelled the same as i remembered from all the nights he spent tucking me in.

Justin saw the uncomfortable look on my face.

"You know each other?" Justin said confused.

"Justin spark meet my beautiful daughter Ellie" said my father.

" I am not your daughter, not after the way you treated mum and abandoned your family!" i yelled at him my eyes watering with tears. I was so angry.

"How could you do this to me, to our family?" i stared at him waiting for his reply.

"Wait he's your father?"

Justin interrupted my long cold stare at my 'so called father'.

"Sweetie i can explain" he begged me.

"I'm waiting" i said in as cold voice as i could.

"I never wanted to leave you and your mother, but I had to. I was putting your lives in danger just being by your side. If they found you because of me. I would have never been able to forgive myself." he said.

"what are you talking about?" I replied in an unsure voice.

" I'm sure Justin has told you about the fire lights."

I nodded my head.

"there is a prophecy that the only one who can defeat the firelights is a first born child of a human and vampire. The chosen one. You Ellie. You were born for a purpose." he stated

my head felt dizzy. This man....vampire used my poor mother. Made her fall for him. Had a child and left.

"You monster!" I yelled "you used my mother" I leapt over the desk my hands aiming for his throat. thump

as I smacked into his chest the chair hit the wall behind him leaving a crack in the wall running from the floor to the ceilling.

He lifted me off him.

"You didn't even love her!" I screamed again

"No Ellie that was the problem I fell in love with your mother and stayed far to long. Luckily my friend Jane relised that if I stayed the firelights would find out about you, and hunt you down and kill you both. I left to protect you" he said pleading.

I didn't want to believe him. But his eyes told me he was telling the truth.

"why am I here now unless.. they found out about me"

horror spread through my body.

"They were looking for you last night. They ripped the whole city apart to find you" my father spoke in a soothing voice but it didnt help, the world still swayed beneath my feet. black spots came into my vision and everything went black.

When I opened my eyes I found that I was in a single bed in a small room. It smelled like dust. I pushed myself up into a sitting position and looked around. The room was small with white walls and one window on the far side of the room. There was a plain dresser next to the bed. And the door was slightly ajar.

"I was wondering when you were gonna wake up" said a familiar voice.

Justin.

"What are you doing in here?" I asked him

"I thought you might want to go get that drink that you so badly need since we didnt have time to get it before the reunion with your father"

Thats when I noticed the burning sensation in my throat.

"oh um..." I stuttered

"don't worry I'll walk you through it" Justin said holding out his hand for me.

"Why should I go with you I hardly know you?" I questioned him. All I really want right now is to make sure my family is okay.

"Because I doubt you will be able to catch your first pray without an experienced hunter like myself to guide you" he smiled and winked at me.

I wasn't sure I should take his hand but the burning in my throat took over and I placed my hand in his.

"that a girl El" he laughed.

The next thing I know he is pulling me out of the room and we are running through the halls of what I think looks like an old vintage Castle. When we reached the very old double doors covered in carvings he looked at me and said "you ready?"

hey guys. This is the first time ive left any comments at the end of the chapter. I hope you like the story sorry it takes me sooooo long to update but ive been busy with school and other stuff. but now it's finally the holidays so il be able to update a bit more often. so thanks for reading!!! :D
