"Hello."
"Annabelle." He whispered her name like if it was his life line which to him it was.
"Xavier." She said as firm as possible but she could hear her voice cracking and he could definitely hear it to. "I received the divorce papers."
"Oh Annabelle look listen about that..." he felt like an idiot for having those drawn up and then forgetting about them and letting her receive them.
"It is fine Xavier... I will have them signed and waiting for you when you get back."
"Annabelle..." he was about to take back everything but he knew it was not right over the phone. "goodbye."
"Goodbye Xavier and..."
"Annabelle I lo..."
They both sat on the phone listening to each other breath for a few minutes. As Xavier heard her let out a sob and heard her suck it back in.
"Xavier I need to tell you something..." she decided to not be scared and to share the most amazing news she had ever heard.
Xavier sat up excited to hear her wanting to talk to him he thought she would hate him after the other night.
"Yes Annabelle?"
"I got some news, I went to the doctor and..."
"Mr. Lucado, Mrs. Elizabeth is here..."
"I am on the phone with Ann..."
Annabelle felt her heart shatter all over again and in that moment decided that she was done, completely done with Xavier she would not allow him to play with her heart ever again. "No it is fine Xavier go and assist Elizabeth. I am done with the calling and bothering you. Goodbye."
"No Annabelle!" but the line was already dead. "Damn it." Xavier slammed his fist on the table and then looked up at Jillian.
There was a time with her looking at him the way she was flirting that he would have jumped on her but from the moment he met Annabelle no other women could reach her. Annabelle was beautiful and to him there was no one in this world that could replace her. Xavier looked down at his wedding band and thought about the first time he saw Annabelle.
"Mr. Lucado your first class is thru that door..." Marco, Xavier's body guard pointed at a door while looking around.
"Thank you Marco..." Xavier smiled. He was taking some courses so that he could continue with a business he was starting. He was set to take his dads but he wanted one that was his and his alone he would merge them together later on and the business would be twice as big then when he would get it and Marco his bodyguard refused to leave his side worried for his safety but what could go wrong it was nothing but students.
Marco pulled a chair by the door. "I will wait by the door sir."
"Ok thank you." Xavier shook his head smilling at least Marco was really good at his job.
Xavier walked into the class and sat in the back left corner of the classroom he pulled out his MacBook and was sending some email for the company he had started that was getting bigger and bigger each day when he heard her laugh for the first time and in that moment his heart stopped and he fell in love with her.
He watched as the girl walked in with a guy next to her and he saw her laughing and as she laughed she tripped but the guy next to her caught her and she laughed harder.
As Xavier watched her smiling his heart started racing. She was beautiful she was shorter than him he was sure, he was 6'0 and she looked about 5'3 or 5'4. She had beautiful long brown hair that reached her butt and it curled a little at the bottom. Her smile looked perfect and her teeth looked white as pearls. What he loved the most about her were her eyes because they were a light brown and they looked so innocent and honest. She was perfect and the fact that she was at Harvard told him she was smart; she was the full package.
As Xavier stared at her she looked up and to make her even more perfect she blushed but her eyes did not move from his. Her smile faltered but then it returned and it was a shy smile that was perfection. For that second that their eyes held Xavier knew he was in love with her and he would spend the rest of his life making her happy and fulfilling her dreams.
Mr. Lucado?"
"Sorry Jillian, what were you saying?" he looked at Jillian who looked confused by his absence.
"Mrs. Elizabeth is here." She pointed behind her towards the entrance.
"Let her in... thank you."
"Xavier darling how are you?"
Xavier stood and walked over to the other side of the desk and waited for Elizabeth to reach him and he pulled her into his arms for a hug.
"I am doing well... just trying to get thru mistake after mistake."
"What do you mean?"
"I sent Annabelle divorce papers..." he looked down and played with his wedding band. "I can't seem to do anything right but I think it is more important for her to have her dream of her family fulfilled then for me to be happy."
"Sweetheart... maybe her happiness is with you and all you are doing is making her and yourself miserable for no reason."
"Aunt Elizabeth... what do I do?" Xavier felt the tears run down his cheeks. "She is it for me... she is everything to me but I do not know what to do. Should I let her go, keep her? I don't know what to do!" he cried into his hands.
"Leave and go and tell her you're an idiot. Make her see that there is no one in this world that you love more than her." His aunt placed his hand on his cheeks.
"Okay..." Xavier smiled and went back around his computer saved everything and turned everything off and turned to his aunt. "I am leaving... I am going to go get my girl!"
As he was hugging her goodbye his uncle walked in with a serious disturbed face and Xavier looked at Elizabeth. "On second thought that might have to wait..."
