Chapter 5 - Landry's happy song

Landry's P.O.V.

It was now tuesday the week after Chloe stood up to Ricky. School had just ended and me and Lauren where waiting outside of the school because Chloe, Rowan and Sabrina's last period ended later than ours. We had all decided to go and take a coffee after school together so right now me and Lauren sat at a table and talked. I noticed that she were being unusual quiet.

"Are you okay Lauren? You seem sad. Do you want to talk about it?" I asked.

"No I'm not... I had a fight with Gus yesterday..." She said.

"Oh, what did you guys fought about?" I asked.

"He's been spending really much time with this other girl called Bryana and I'm afraid he's cheating on me" She said.

"Did you asked him about her?" I said.

"Yeah but he got angry because I accused him and left all upset. And now he won't return any of my calls or texts. I really hope that we're not over you know... I just wish he could tell me the truth" She said.

"I understand, maybe he just needs some space." I said.

"Yeah maybe..." She said but was still sad.

"Okay, do you know what always makes me happy when I'm sad?" I said.

"No" She said and shook her head.

"Promise to not judge me and held it against me" I said.

"Okay, I promise" She said.

"Good because this you can't tell anyone. This seriously needs to stay between us." I said.

"I won't tell anyone" She said.

"Okay, here" I said and handed her one of my earphones while putting the other one in my ear. Lauren took the earphone and did the same.

"Okay so this is my happy song. If it doesn't make you happy then I don't know" I said and went into the Spotify app on my phone.

I pressed play on Justin Bieber's song Baby and it started to play. I began to sang along and do some dancing with my hands. Lauren chuckled and watched me. As the first chorus came I sang along and Lauren sat there smiling. In the middle of my dancing I turned my head backwards to notice that noone other than Ricky had walked up behind us and now stood there. Urgh what does he want. I paused the music and took out my earphone and so did Lauren. Ricky walked around me and sat next to me at the table.

"Justin Bieber? Cool!" He said.

"Yeah... I mean it's nothing that I listen to but... it was only because.... or well, I don't have to explain that to you" I said.

Ricky sat there and looked at me with a grin on his lips.

"Did you wanted something or?" I asked.

"Yeah, do you want to come to my place and do homework?" He said.

I let out a chuckle.

"Excuse me, Ricardo...." I said.

"Ricky" He said.

"Well that answers your question doesn't it? I don't even know your name" I said.

"For me, you can call me whatever you want" He said.

"Okay, then I'm choosing to call you douchebag" I said.

He let out a laugh and then smiled big at me.

"You thought that was funny?" I asked.

"Are you coming with me or not?" He said.

"I thought my answer was pretty clear, but no." I said.

He grinned again for himself and stood up. He then looked back at me.

"Let me know when you changed your mind" He said as he began to walk towards his car.

"Yeah go home and wait for that,you" I said and looked after him.

He smiled at me and got into his car. I watched him drive away and then I turned to Lauren.

"Who does he think he is" I said.

"Why did you call him Ricardo? You know his name is Ricky." Lauren said.

"It's a ruling technique. I'm showing him that I'm in charge here" I said.

"Okay, but that was pretty random. You called him out last week and then he walks up to you and wants to study with you" She said.

"Yeah but I'll never in a million years do anything with him so. Just don't tell Chloe about this okay. She'd not be happy" I said.

"I promise, this stays between you and me. Just like your crush on Justin" She said and teased me.

"Hey! I don't have a crush on him, his music is just really good at cheering you up" I said.

"Okay whatever you say" She said and laughed.

"Landry! Lauren! Over here!" I heard Chloes voice.

We turned around and saw her, Rowan and Sabrina abit away. I turned to Lauren.

"Let's go grab that coffee" I said.

Lauren nodded and both of us got of the table and walked over to the others. We then walked away from school and to a café where we had a really nice time, chatting about everything.
