Eryn looked like she was about to faint. "Maybe the wind blew it away or something," I said trying to reassure her everything is okay. "Someone has been here" she said more firmly. She stood up and walked over to the corner of the large room. "Maybe we should get out of here," I said nervously, "If someone has been here, it means we aren't safe." She nodded slowly. I followed her out of the room and we crept around the cave. "You know, for 6 months, I was worried something would randomly pop out from the darkness." She said. We continued walking for a while when we saw a small figure.
"What's that?" She said worried. We slowly walked up and then I stepped in some sort of puddle. I looked down and couldn't believe my eyes. I stepped out of the puddle of blood and look at the figure on the ground. A young girl, covered in blood. Dead. I look at Eryn who has already fainted and was lying on the stone floor. Without even thinking I grab Eryn and drag her in a corner. My arms were extremely shaky and I couldn't feel my legs. They eventually gave up and I collapsed onto the ground.
"Ava," I heard a quiet whisper say my name, and I looked at Eryn. She was still sound asleep next to me when I hear it again. "Ava," and I shivered thinking I was imagining things. I blinked quickly but then I heard it again and I decided to wake up Eryn. I shook her and she quickly looked up. "Ava," I heard again. "Did you hear that?" I whispered to Eryn. Her face went from an alert expression to a terrified one. She nodded.
