"YAY! Thank you Diopside!!!" She jumped in glee. Nakailang thank you na nga siya saakin eh.
Inayos ko ang malaking payong, naulan nanaman kasi pero dahil sinabi ni Desty na birthday niya ay pumayag ako.
"Ganto mo ba kagusto magpicnic?" I asked, smiling from ear to ear.
"Yup!!! Ever since I was little, I wanted to come here with my prince charming." Tumigil na siya sa pagtalon at umupi sa picnic mat.
"But I'm no prince charming, Desty" I laughed.
"You are!" She replied. "And I'm your princess!" At umikot siya na parang prinsesa
Napailing nalang ako habang nakangiti.
"Let's eat?" Umupo na siya sa tabi ko at kinuha ang camera niya. She always carry it pero hindi niya sakin pinapakita ang laman nito. "Say cheese!" And we smiled.
"Ang ganda dito diba?" Napatingin ako sakanya, only to see na hindi pala siya nakatingin sakin.
Napatingin ako sa mga bulaklak. They're beautiful just like the girl beside me. Always blooming.
"When I die, I want you to visit me here." She said, eyeing me.
I glared at her jokingly. "Stop saying those things, Desty. You're too young to die. You still have a bright future ahead."
"My, my, diopside, anybody can die, there is no such thing in death na may required age." She laughed bitterly. "And my future will just be bright if you were there." She added.
"It's an honor to be beside you in the future." I chuckled. "But still.. for me to be in your future, you should live long first." I seriously said
"Diopside.. thank you."
"Stop thanking me Desty. Ako dapat ang magpasalamat sayo." I winked at her that made her chuckle.
"Desty, can I ask you something?"
"Hmm. Sure. Ano ba yun?"
"Promise me na hindi ka aalis?"
Nakita ko na kinabahan siya, kinuyom niya ang kamay niya at pumikit.
"I'm sorry.. Forget what I said, Desty."
Umiling siya at binuksan niya ang kanyang mata. "I promise."
"What?"
"Tell me your question, Diopside." She looked at me then smiled.
"Where do you live? Nasan ang magulang mo? I never saw nor hear them from you."
She sighed, "When the time comes, i'm sure you'll discover where I live but right now... I can't say it. I don't want to." She looked away before continuing. "My true parents... they're gone. I don't know where they are right now. I was a lost child not until my foster mom adopted me, she told me that she can't bear a child kaya niya ako inampon along with my sister.. she's adopted too."
I hugged her at nagsimula ng bumuhos ang luha niya. "I'm sorry..."
