BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! The alarm was screaming at me, to wake up.
MUM: "Lauryn, wake up! You're gonna be late for your first day at school!"
ME: "Urgh! It's only 06:15! One more minute?"
JOHN: "C'mon. The quicker we leave, the more time you have to explore the school and make new friends."
MUM: "And the quicker you wake up, the more time you have to choose an outfit."
I got up and made my to my closet, which is it's own room. I raided my clothes, to find the perfect outfit. I wanted something that would make me fit in, but stand out. And as I turned, from left to right, I saw it; the perfect outfit. It was black short sleeve crop top (cropped enough to see my belly button piercing), a pair of denim shorts (which were ripped a little bit)and a red and black checkered shirt (that I wore around my waist).
John walked past my room and saw me staring at "The Perfect Outfit". He came in and leaned against the door frame.
JOHN: "It's gonna look beautiful on you."
ME: "Oh ... um ... thanks."
JOHN: "It's a good thing that it's summer, otherwise you'd be freezing."
ME: "Yeah."
JOHN: "Do you want me to drive you?"
ME: "Um ... I don't mind. Are you sure though?"
JOHN: "Of course I'm sure. But if anything happens, call either me or your mum."
ME: "Kk."
As John walked down the stairs, I couldn't help but think how awkward that conversation was. I went downstairs and grabbed my bag.
ME: "Bye John. Bye Mum."
MUM: "Have a nice day, honey."
I walked out the door and took out my phone, to see what time it was; it was 08:05 and I had to be at school by 08:30. As I walked down to the end of my road, I could see Brooklyn Rose High School students walking with their friends. I looked around, to see if there were any students around, and saw a group of boys behind me. They were talking and laughing; I walked faster and faster, to stop myself from hearing them, until I got to a crossing. The cars were driving past, one by one, and I could here footsteps coming behind me. I slowly turned my head around, so that whoever was behind me couldn't see my face, and it was the same group of boys, that I saw first. Before they got to the crossing, the green man came, which means you can cross and started beeping and I raced to my new school as quickly as I could.
