*Rylie's POV*
"That was totally uncalled for Rylie!" My boyfriend Calum laughed as he wiped his eyes. We were splashing around in the pool in my backyard. It was the beginning of May, and it seemed to get warmer everyday here in my hometown of San Antonio, Texas. I laughed as he started to climb out of the pool.
"What, you can't handle a little water?". He grabbed a towel and wiped his face off. He gave me a sarcastic look.
"Considering I just came out of a pool, no of course I can't handle water." I stuck my tongue out at him while splashing some water near him. After ruffling the towel through his hair, he placed it around his neck. I leaned against the wall of the pool and just looked at Cal. I liked hearing him talk as much as I liked looking at him. He has moved here from Sydney, Australia just two years ago, which meant he has one of those lovely aussie accents. Not to mention he was a total hearthrob. He was a golden color, considering he spent a lot of his time in the sun playing for our school's winning soccer team. He had a visble outline of a six pack, and there was water droplets slowly moving down his toned chest. My eyes couldn't stray away from him. He smirked at me.
"Like what you see?" I giggled and slowly ducked my head under the water, considering my cheeks were probably red as ever. I surfaced a few seconds later to see him sitting down in one of the chairs beside the pool. I got out of the pool as well, grabbing a towel from the table and drying myself off. I sat down next to him and looked at the beautiful array of scenery in my backyard. He grabbed my hand and intertwined our fingers. I looked at him and smiled.
"You're beautiful." He said through a broad smile. He leaned over and kissed my nose. I could live in a moment like this forever. It was silent for a while, but it wasn't an awkward silence. It was one of those silences you felt comfortable in. A few minutes went by of us basking in the sunlight before he spoke up.
"You, know, I'm really gonna miss you next month when you leave." I sighed. That's right, when school ended, I was moving out to California to live with my friend Daniella. I squeezed his hand.
"I'm gonna miss you so much more." He sighed. I pleaded him to come with me before, but he insisted he couldn't. The only reason his parents moved out to the U.S. all the way from Australia is so Calum could further his career in something successful. See, before he lived here, he was in a band. He told me all these stories about his mates, and how his parents never liked them. So one day they decided that Calum's little fantasy career of being in a band was not gonna cut it. He was devastated, but I guess he agreed it was for the best. He got up and looked at me.
"I'm going to get something to drink, come with?" I smiled and followed him into the kitchen where he started making lemonade. I walked up behind him and wrapped my arms around his waist, laying my head against his bare back. He was warm and I loved that, so I pulled him in tighter. "You okay princess?" He giggled, stirring the lemonade.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I just love you a lot." He turned around and cupped my chin. "I love you more." He said before placing his lips on mine. I layed my head against him again, while he rested his chin on the top of my head. We stood like this for a bit, until we heard the front door open. With our arms still around each other, we turned to look near the door. My parents walked into kitchen, holding shopping bags. We both grabbed some of the bags they set down. "Hello birthgivers, how was your day?" I turned to look at my parents. Calum started to laugh while he helped put things away. My mother and father both kissed me on the cheek.
"It was fine. How was you and Cal's day?" My mother asked while going to help put some more things away. My father slipped out of the room, leaving my mother with Calum and I.
"Great, actually. We were outside for a bit.". When there was nothing left to store away, he offered my mother some lemonade.
"Will you be staying for dinner, Cal?" My mother politely asked. He grabbed his phone from the table to check the time.
"Uh, actually, I need to get going early today. Thank you though." Calum walked over to me and kissed my forehead. "I'll call you later. Bye princess."
"Bye Cal, love you." He yelled a "love you" as we heard the door close. My mother looked at me, starting to prepare dinner.
"I'm really glad you found someone like Calum." I smiled to myself.
"Yeah, I am too."
