Ashley's P.O.V ;;

I could feel it in my bones, it was right there.

I look up at the huge oak tree before me, clutching my bow harder. The branches were moving, and some dead leaves fell from above, but there was no wind. Meaning, someone is making the braches move, someone- or thing, is up there.

I breathe in, grabbing a branch and making my way up the tree. I was careful not to make any noise, i don't know what's up there. It could just be another hunter resting, a wild cat, or even better, a creature.

I yelp as my foot slips, my grip tightened around the branches and i prayed nobody, or thing, had noticed me.

I stayed silent for a moment, observing my surroundings. Anything could be lurking around me at this moment, i wouldn't know anyways, and right before i do, i'd be dead.

Yeah, i'm on the dangerous side.. Again.

I've been warned of this area. My parents, and other people at the village told me not to come here. Some did, but never came back. And of course, me, being the reckless little person i am, just did. But i've done it for a reason, a bet. All i need is a head. A creature's head.

And apparently, i'm failing at it.

I remember the last time i've come here, it was with a friend, over a week ago. The first person to set up as many traps as possible before getting attacked wins. And well.. I won. Only because he was found headless by the river.

Damn Mermaids. As innocent as they seem, they have hearts of stone.

I was so lost in thought that i didn't even pay attention to me slowly slipping down. I jumped, catching another branch and pulling myself up, eventually resting on a thicker one because hell, i was tired. Tree climbing is hard.

I sigh, looking down, i was way far up, i can't just give up now.

Meanwhile ;;

"Damn sunlight." Gerard mumbles, hiding behind the large leaves of the tree and resting against it. He was sitting at the very top, it was a method of "can't be bothered" as he likes to call it.

As huge as it was, the tree still wouldn't really protect him from danger, but it's not like he had any other choice. Hell, he's probably stuck.

Just after he closed his eyes to take a nap, he felt movements. The tree's branches were swaying slightly. His eyes snapped open and he looked down, he saw a figure, a human figure.

Gerard cursed under his breath and tried climbing further up, but he couldn't, he was stuck.

"I don't wanna die, not yet at least. I wanna live to 2000!" Was all he was thinking about.

Ashley heard a strange sound, she looked up and saw a person, who or whatever they were, seemed stuck. He was only a little bit away from her.

"You!" She shouted. "Down here."

"Nope. Not today." Gerard muttered, climbing further up.

"Wait. I just need to talk to you!"

"You know i could easily bite your head off, right? Go away, i'm feeling peaceful."

"No."

He facepalmed. "I shouldn't be talking to you right now." Gerard stood carefully on the thick branch, Ashley was able to see him better, she gasped.

He had very pale skin, dark rings around his blood red eyes, and dark messy hair. He wore a black suit with a red tie. And he gave her a dead glare.
