Chapter 3

"Hey Jakob, can I tell you something real quick?" I say nervously.

"Yeah sure, what's up?" He says.

"When I got home from school on my first day, my parents pulled out a photo album and inside were images of us as best friends when we were younger. Do you remember when we were really close as kids?" I say to him.

His face goes from smiling to straight face. This doesn't look good.

"Oh...My...God..." Jakob says separating each word.

You just standing there waiting for something to happen when Jakob picks you up into a hug and spins you around.

"You have no idea how long I've been waiting to see you again Zoe!" He says as he puts you down and a massive smile grows on his face.

"But how did you know that it was me?" He asks curiously.

You explain everything that you told Chris and just telling him made you feel like there is a weight lifted off your shoulders. You walk back to the table and sit down, Jakobs face still beaming of happiness.

"Well someone's happy. What's up?" Asks Ethan.

Jakob looks at you and nod your head to tell him that he can say it. He explains it to Ethan and his face is still glowing.

"See it wasn't that hard now was it?" Says Chris after Jakob finishes explaining it.

"Wait, you knew about this?" Asks Jakob.

"Well she had to tell someone first before telling you. Oh and the pic of you in the ridiculous swimmers, hilarious". Chris answers back to Jakob.

"What picture?" Says Jakob.

Chris starts laughing and you say to Jakob,

"Do you wanna come over this afternoon after school? I'll show you the pictures I have. My parents wont mind".

"Yeah ok. I'll just have to go home first though because mum will want to see me and she might wanna come over too. Is that ok?" Says Jakob.

"Yeah that's ok. Just let you know when your coming so I can text you my address". You say back.

You spend the rest of the day glad that you told him and before you know it the home bell rings and Chris drops you home. You walk inside to see your mum sitting on the couch watching TV. You walk over to her and give her a hug.

"Hey mum. I hope you don't mind but the Delgado's were gonna come over soon. Is that ok?" You check with mum just in case she would like to have a quiet afternoon instead.

"Oh honey that's great! I was gonna ask if you wanted them to stay over on the weekend" Says mum.

"Aww yay! Can they still come over on the weekend though?" You ask, hoping that she will say yes.

"Well your dad and I are fine with them staying over so I'll just have to check with them this afternoon." Says mum.

"Thanks mum! Oh and would it be ok if Chris and Ethan could stay on the weekend as well?" You ask before you walk away.

"Who's Ethan?" Mum questions.

"One of my friends at school. He showed me around on my first day and he is best friends with Jakob". You answer.

"Well only if its ok with them" Mum says back.

"Thanks Mum! I love you!" You say and head up to room and change out of your school uniform. You quickly do your English homework and when you finish Jakobs messages and you tell him your address. You go to the kitchen and make some snacks for your family and his to eat. After about 15-20 minuets you hear a knock on the door and your mum heads to the door and opens it.

"Hello! Its been so long since I've seen you guys! Come inside. Wow Jakob you've grown up fast. Zoe is just in the kitchen getting snacks." You hear your mum say from the entry.

Jakob into the kitchen and says,

"Hey there, need help?"

"Hey Jake, and yeah would you be able to take the cheese and crackers outside please. I can take the drinks and the other food". You say pointing to the crackers and cheese.

You and Jakob walk outside to put the food on the table. Jakob puts the food on the table and then you step in front of him and put the stuff on the table I turn to walk back inside but I trip on the chair leg and fall onto Jakob. He catches me and then I get off him because it was awkward.

"So.. Wanna go for a swim?" I ask and he nods his head.

He goes into the bathroom to change and I go into my room. I put on my favourite bikini and I walk out to see Jakob at the bottom of the stairs. He turns around and I freeze. He's staring at me, I'm staring at him. He has no shirt on and can i just say that he looks super fine. I We both realise what's happening and at the same time we look away and walk to my pool awkwardly. When we get in its fine and we have a few races, contests and challenges. He's a really good friend.

*Ethan's POV:*

*On phone*

Ethan: Yeah and when I walked into the office she looked so good! I just couldn't do anything because I didn't wanna have a bad first impression and Mrs Brookes was there.

Chris: Well that makes sense. I think Jakob is over at hers now by the way.

Ethan: What?!..Um I mean..(clears throat) he is a good friend to her and after what happened at lunch I think they would wanna catch up.

Chris: Ethan... Why did you sound angry then?

Ethan: psh what are you talking about I'm not angry

Chris: I think you are. I saw your face when you noticed them talking at lunch and when she asked him to go over her place. Is there something you want to tell me?

Ethan: Umm... I...I don't think so...

Chris: C'mon Ethan I know there is something going on in that little head of yours

Ethan: Ugh ok fine.. I... I think I like her, Chris
