Tomrrow Will be Better

Chapter 2

Me and Sophie hopped into her x5 and rolled the windows down . It was a beautiful spring day and I was glad to get out the house. We turned on 105.1 and put the music on full blast . I began to quiz Sophie on the days agenda .

" So where are we going "

Sophie had one hand on the wheel and was tapping away at her iphone with the other .

"To a house warming "

She was talking to me but grinning paying attention to whoever was spitting game to her in her phone . Someone was always chasing her and I could see why . Sophie was the perfect blend of black and Korean . Her eyes were big and brown and she had full lips a small waist and thick thighs. Her jet black hair always cascaded around her yellow face making her look even more beautiful. Men couldn't get enough of her even with her being a 5'7 powerhouse . although she entertain them she never gave them the time of day

"Sophie your gonna get us killed and we gonna be in one of those last text message commercials "

"Bitch we should have took your car then"

Sophie automatically regretted the joke as soon as it came off her lips. When me and Chance broke up he took everything he ever given me back . The car the apartment even our dog. I moved in with Chance when I was in high school to be closer to him. my strict Haitian parents begged me to stay home and were devastated when I chose to still Move in with Chance at the tender age of sixteen .Although they forgiven me since then our relationship was never the same .

" I'm sorry Gab " she instantly became angry .
"Chance is really a bitch nigga yo ."

" I thought you said we couldn't mention his name " I smiled to lighten up the mood . Sophie laughed

" You see our mission is still in effect "

Minutes later we pulled into a dead end block in Williamsburg . Sophie started applying more gloss to her lips . I looked around and saw a couple of parked cars but nothing major . Sophie must have noticed my nervousness .

" don't worry it's gonna be fun "

We both stepped out the car. Sophie had on a mini white leather with maxi dress that had splits on both side and biker boots. While I wore a leather skirt and a midnight blue sheer silk blouse. My hair was pulled into a high bun and I had on large hoop earrings . We walked up to a building and open the door that took us straight to an elevator where we pressed the top floor . Once we reached the top Sophie knocked on the door and a guy who had to be at least 6'4 opened the door .

" Beauty" he said as

he kissed Sophie on the cheek

" And friend " his big hands grabbed mines ever so delicately and he kissed it my golden skin turned red. Not because I was attracted to him but because Ive forgot how a mans touched felt.

"Gabby this is our host Mike . Mike this is my best friend Gabby "

" Nice to meet you " Mike put out his hand to shake . I was hesitant at first the gave him a firm shake

" Don't tell me I made a bad impression already . I'm only this tall when I stand but if u want I can sit down "

We all laughed and I grabbed a flute of champaign off one of the trays a butler was walking around with . There was quite a number of people here and the loft had a beautiful view of the Williamsburg bridge. I stepped closer to the floor to ceiling windows to enjoy the view . I didn't notice that there was someone in front of me enjoying the view as well . When he turned around he was nearly face to face with me . His sent was the first thing I notice .

" I'm sorry " he apologized.

I stepped to the side not taking my eyes of the view. Chance and I use to have an apartment in the city with a similar view. Bad memories started to resurface .

" it's beautiful isn't it "

I turned around and my jaw nearly dropped off. He was gorgeous . His chocolate skin was smooth all over. He had curly hair and his hazel eyes that were framed by long lashes . I felt my face turning red again.

" that's one of the reasons why I choose this spot . I could always have some  where to think "

" yeah" was all I managed to get out

He took a sip from his glass . I wished I was his glass I thought to myself . That's when I notice he was staring at me .He pushed his hand out

"I'm Jay by the way I don't think we've met before "

I opted out for the handshake . Lifting up my glass instead

" Gabby . Sophie's friend "

" oh that big ass bully " we both started laughing and the devil herself walked up to us .

" I heard my name"

Jay turned to Sophie and playfully started air boxing with her .

"Yo Tyson wassup "

" Tyson " ?

" It's a long story " she said rolling her eyes.

"one you haven't told your best friend " I wasn't that shocked though.Sophie was always full of surprises.

" yeah you didn't tell her " Jay instigated jokingly . "Sophie why you didn't tell me you had such a beautiful best friend " He said it so nonchalantly and I began to blush .

"Because I wanted her to stay away from people like you and Mike " Him and Sophie started to air box again and Mike walked over . I excused myself to the bathroom .

The bathroom was beautiful everything was a rich forest green with accents of gold and white. The shower was all made out of glass and stone and had a giant silver shower head . And a full length mirror where I admired my appearance . People often said me and Sophie looked alike except I was shorter and my skin was a mix between  chocolate and  bronze . I washed my hands and stepped out the bathroom where Sophie was waiting for me .

" were about to leave you got everything " she looked like she was in a rush

" uuhh yea I think so ... Is everything okay " ?

"Yea lets go " she grabbed my arm and pulled me towards the door . I looked back and waved to Mike and Jay who were both staring at Sophie like she had two heads.

We got to the car where she drove off without giving it a chance to warm up .

" Sophie what the fuck are you alright? "

I asked with real concern . I've never seen Sophie act like this . She never broke into a sweat . Even on the day we got caught stealing underwear from Victoria secret in our freshman year. Sophie took all the blame and laughed when mall security said that they was gonna make sure she was put in jail .

She smiled at me but said nothing.

When she got in front of my apartment she gave me a kiss on the cheek and said she was gonna call me as if nothing happened. I stood on the curb dumbfounded watching my best friend speed away.
