Alice walked towards the school, deep in thought. Her head was full of Alex and his stupid hunter trials. The more she thought about it the more worried she became. What is he managed to convince

grandma? What if grandma convinces mom and dad? What if he managed to pass the hunter trials? With each step, her worry increased. From where Alice was standing, she could see the forest. Dark, dangerous. It sent a shiver down her spine. If Alex passed, her would be going in there. Alice turned. Screw school. She needed to go see grandma.

Not every part if the forest was dark and dangerous. There were parts where the sun would shine through the trees and colorful little flowers would grow in the sunny spots. It was the place you would expect to see fairies flying around. The path to grandma's was like that. Walking through it made Alice relax slightly. Grandma was the only person in the village that didn't actually live in village. For some reason she chose to live away from the village. In the forest. Whenever Alice asked her mother, the woman would just sigh and say that it was grandma's choice to make, after all, it was the house grandma grew up in. Many of the villagers, the hunters especially, were strongly opposed to grandma living in the forest, yet none of the forced her. Out of respect for the elderly? Alice didn't know.

Before she knew it, Alice found herself at her destination. It had been a while since she last visited. Nothing had changed. A small cottage in the middle of the forest. It was shaded by a beautiful tree, that had been there ever since she could remember. Despite it's size, the branches hung low and seemed to surround grandma's house, like protective arms. The long branches were covered in white flowers, that bloomed in all seasons. Alice remembered that she used to call it the ever blooming tree. When she arrived at the wooden door, she knocked. There were a few quiet footsteps and the door opened. Unlike things at Alice's house, the things here hardly creaked. Behind the door, stood a old woman with silvery hair. Despite her old age, there were still remnants of her youth. She was once a very beautiful woman. In fact, the villager's said, Alice inherited her feautures. The old woman smiled as she opened the door further.

"I knew you would come, Alice."
