The Circle

I held my breath as I saw those eyes fade back into the darkness. My eyes widened as my head flicks from side to side trying to make out what was happening. I squinted my eyes in desperation trying to make out my surroundings. Suddenly , about 10 feet in front of me I see something wavering-glowing in the distance. It smelled like smoke. FIRE!! I yelled inside my head. Abruptly it was being tossed my way. I quickly covered my head with my arms while my body curled up into a ball getting as close to the wall as i could. Nothing happened.

I felt my face loosen as my eyes slanted open. Cautiously I began to sit up still on my bottom. I felt the the dampness of the leaves cradeled between my fingers. I saw the fire now full grown and blazing about five feet in front of me. It illuminated the whole cave. I heard a low growl. I froze and eager yet slowly turned my head to my right. There and as clear as day was a real living wild wolf. Its head was tilted toward the ground while its fangs hung outside the corners of its mouth.

It was gray and white with royal blue eyes that glared right at me. I slid my gaze clockwise to find a whole pack of them gathered around the fire...and all staring at me.

I dug my nails into the dirt beneath me and held my breath. "What in the actual FUCK is going ..on ?" I mumbled under my breath.

They were all just starting at me with those vicious fangs. My mouth went dry and my heart sank. Suddenly, syncronized they all turned their attention away from me and onto the other side of the cave on the other side of the fire. There was a tall figure standing in the shadows. I grew hopeful hoping it might've been my Dad, but when it stepped forward I could see long black hair and tanned skin. "Thaaaats definitely not my Dad " I whispered to myself annoyed.

The figure began howling and in unison They all ran out of the cave. I squinted my eyes at the fire hoping to see the other side of it wandering if the figure was still there. "I Can't see anything " I whispered to myself. With all the encourage I had left I pulled myself up with my hands and crawled towards the fire hoping to get a better look. When I got about 3 inches away from the fire it blew out. And those eyes were once again staring at me inches away from my face.

Ahhhh" -I flew back against the wall with my eyes as wide as I could. I couldn't see anything, but i could hear movement. There was another flame lit and this time i could see the figure sitting right in front of me.

"What's your name ?" I heard a deep raspy yet womanly voice ask. This time along with those deep brown eyes were curly eye lashes and wide full pink lips. Her hair hung by her side. Up close it was thick and wavy, her side burns were elongated and they curled up. She looked at me intensely. I met her gaze realizing I hadn't answered her question.

"Who...who are you?" Was all I could muster out due to the shock I was still in. She smiled at me as if understanding my confusion. "Faiyaz" she replied softly. "But you may call me Fai.."she finished with an even warmer smile. Gosh she was gorgeous. Her smile made me feel warm, but I couldn't portray it sense I was still confused. I think she sensed it. "Those wolves would have killed you...I couldn't let that happen. " she said solidly while staring at the ground. "There not evil creatures ya know? ...Just doing what's natural to them ..." she stated softly still looking at the ground.

"H-How did you stop them ?" I said breathlessly. Her eyes darted up at me almost instantly. "I called them off" she finished staring at me again. She followed my eyes as I explored her experssion..She knew I was confused. Yet she just smiled and opened her mouth to speak -"Flo" I interrupted her. She looked at me almost startled. "M-My name is...Flo" I finished chuckling.
