The scene starts in Ragini and Swara's room. Swara was so excited, she was getting married to her love,her Lakshya. She had been waiting for this day since ages yet she couldn't help but feel uneasy. Swara had not given attention to the feeling and simply thought they were just nerves. After all what possibly could go wrong...
"Oh my god, Ragu I can't wait, Laksh is so caring and he loves me so much, I am so lucky" she shouted dreamily. Ragini gave her a small smile but her eyes were filled with sadness as she looked at her older sister's happiness.
"How can I possibly do this to her." she thought. But then she thought of his words and shook her head.
"I have to do it, its for them, for their happiness." Ragini smiled at Swara.
"Dulhanji aap please sleep kariye, varna shaadi ki raat par jeejaji aapko bohot satayenge." she teased. Swara blushed and hugged her.
"Ragini ki bachi, teri baari ayega toh main tujhe kitna tease karunga tu dekh lena." she replied, still faintly blushing. Both sisters laughed and hugged each other tightly. After sometime, Swara went to sleep but Ragini stayed awake staring out of the window. Mishti, Ragini's mother entered the room.
"Ragu,tu abhi bi jaag rahi hai, kya hua meri bachi." Ragini sensed the worry in her mother's voice and immediately smiled.
"Kuch nahi meri pyaari mumma, main bas yahi soch raha tha ki jab Swara jaayegi toh main kitni akeli hojoungi." she said. Mishti smiled.
"Bas yahi?Tu chinta mat kar Swara se tu jab chahe phone pe baat kar sakti he aur phir yeh soch ki Swara kitni khush hai." Ragini nodded in understanding. A few minutes passed.
" Mumma, agar main kuch galat karu, toh aap mujhe maaf karenge na" Ragini asked. Mishti looked surprised.
"Zaroor, maa ka toh kaam hi apni bachi ko maaf karna, lekin meri ragu or shona kuch galat nahi kar sakti mujhe yakeen hain, par ab tu so jaa." Mishti left after tucking Ragini in.
The next morning arrived too quickly, ragu woke up first and after freshening she went downstairs. Workers were running around everywhere, she could hear her mum and dadi shouting at them to hurry up.
"Hai meri katushaam ji, laado tu ut gayi jaa jake nashta karle aur phir shona ko utha lena usse bi toh nashta karna hai aur tayaar bi toh hona hai." dadi loudly suggested. Obidiently, Ragini ate her breakfast and took some for Swara.The dulhan was peacefully sleeping. Ragini shook her head.
"Arre dulhanji aapka dulha aane hi wale hai aur aap abhi bi so rahi hai!" she shouted loudly. Startled, Swara woke,confused but then she realised.
"Oh my God, Ragu aaj meri shaadi hair aur main abhi bi so rahi thi, tune mujhe pehle kyun nahi uthaya ,kya main zyaada late hoon, kya laksh aake chala gaya mera wait karte karte?" Shona babbled on with a worried expression. Ragini laughed.
"Meri cute didi aap chinta mat kariye agar aap poori din hi so rahi hoti toh bi jeejaji aapko nahi chor ke jaate," she teased, winking. Swara blushed furiously. "Aur haa aap late nahi hai, main tumhare liye naashta le ayi hoon, please kaa lon jaldi mumma nai kaha naa ki hume pehle mandir jaana hai aur phir aap aake ready ho jaayenge." she added. Swara quickly ate her breakfast and got ready in a simple anarkali suit. Ragini smiled at her excitement but got sad remembering something.
"I will shatter her, when I do the job, what will she think? Her innocent little sister betrayed her so badly." she thought, a tear fell on her pale cheeks. She hastily wiped it away before Swara noticed. She and Swara left their room and greeted some early guests.
"Meri dono betiyaan bohot sundar lag rahi hai." Shekhar ,their dad, commented. They took his blessings.
"Papa, main Swara ko mandir le jaa raha hoon, jese mumma nai kaha tha." Ragini told him.
"Acha par jaldi aana." he replied. They both nodded. Shekhar felt very weird when both sisters left the house, as if something bad was going to happen but he shook off the feeling. Meanwhile both sisters had arrived at the mandir and were standing in front of the idol praying silently. While Swara was praying for her marriage and Lakshya, Ragini was praying for her family and hoping that no evil eye falls on them. When they were finished, they went to their bridge which was near the mandir. This bridge was their secret little place, where they could confess their feelings to eachother. God knows how much time they spent there during their childhood.
"Swara, main tumse pyaar karta hoon lekin laksh se zyaada nahi, tumne usse mujhse cheen liya tha toh aaj mai usse tumse cheen loongi, Swara Laksh is mine, only mine aur tum usse nahi shaadi karsakte." she shouted. Swara was dumbfounded, she didn't know what to say. Before she could respond, she found herself falling. Her innocent Ragu had pushed her, the only thought that crossed her mind was that her sister had betrayed her.
A/N First chapter finished! Please know that this is my first story and there is going to be mistakes but I will try my best to complete it asap and make it to the best of my ability. Also, in this story Mishti is Raginis real mum and there is no Janki. This is Swaragini in my words. All characters belong to Rashmi Sharma.
