Ragini was sat in front of her dressing table in Swara's wedding dress and her jewellery, the dress had lost the sparkle it once had, it seemed wrong that she was wearing it like it was not meant for her. Ragini did not look at herself at all she was taking something that was never hers. She also felt a little sad for herself, every girl has dreams of getting married to the groom of her choice, to wear her own wedding dress, her own jewellery. Everything felt used and Ragini hated it. She herself wanted a lavish and grand wedding with all her friends and family involved. All of this was his fault, he had shattered her dreams and compelled her to follow his beastly orders. Dadi put her red chunri on her head and smiled down at her. Ragini looked at her, she couldn't smile, not after what she did.

"My dear laado looks beautiful doesn't she Sharmishta?" Dadi commented. Mishti didn't answer, she looked lost. Dadi glanced at her and shook her head with an angry expression on her face.

"Sharmishta, Swara betrayed and left us you are now doing injustice to Ragini. Every girl has a dream that she will marry a boy of her choice and that boy will love and support her but because of Swara my Laado is having to marry Lakshya to save our respect and your not even looking at her." Dadi shouted. Mishti broke down and sat on the floor, crying. Dadi melted and went to support her. Ragini still sat there, she had barely heard what her grandmother  had said she was in her own world. She couldn't go and help her mum  if she couldn't even support herself. All she did was sit and let her life be decided for her like always. When she was younger her strict dad and grandmother decided everything for her. What time she came back, what she did, how long she went outside for and it had continued till now where she sat marrying her sister's fiancée because otherwise he would kill her family. Why was her fate always so unfair to her, no matter how much she prayed she didn't get the happiness she truly deserved. All these thoughts were swirling through her head and it was making her feel dizzy. God knows how long after Mishti came and stood next to her. It could have been seconds, minutes or years yet Ragini wouldn't be able to tell.

"My daughter is looking like a princess and she looks beautiful everyday not just today." Mishti said, making an attempt to smile but a few more tears slid down her cheeks and Ragini lowered her head immediately, feeling guilty to have caused the tears.

"Ragu I'm your mum tell me the truth you are happy aren't you?" Mishti asked. Ragini didn't want to reply to that but after looking at her mums now worried face she stood up and held her mother's hands.

"Mum I am only doing this marriage to save our pride and respect but I trust Laksh and I know he is very caring I'm sure he will respect me even if he doesn't love me now." she replied. Mishti gave a small smile, satisfied with Ragini's answer.  Ragini hugged her suddenly getting emotional, the idea finally dawned on her, marriage meant going away from her parents something she wasn't expecting but however she knew she had no choice. Her studies, her career she knew that she would have to sacrifice both of these as uncle wasn't pleased with the idea of daughter-in-law's working. Her dreams held no importance to him all he cared about was himself and his selfish needs.

"Come on now everyone must be waiting outside." Dadi rushed. Mishti and dadi got on either side of Ragini and slowly took her outside. Ragini kept her head low, she didn't want to see Laksh's face, the hurt that was going to be visible on his features while they were both tied into a forced relationship. She felt as if she was stealing Swara's love, as if she was taking something that was never hers to begin with. As they entered the mandap Anupurna and Sujata aunty both came and blessed her although sujata looked bored and not really bothered about all the drama that had gone on. Uttara was quietly standing in the corner, Ragini knew that she was fond of Swara and looked like she wasn't happy that her brother was getting married to Ragini.

"Wow before I even enter my in laws I already have people that don't like me, this is a good beginning then." Ragini sarcastically thought. Shekhar came over and took ragu by the arm, taking her away from dadi and Mishti.

"Ragini child you have made me a proud dad today, you have kept my honour." he whispered in her ear. Ragini looked up and smiled at her father and hugged him.

"I love you papa." she whispered back. Shekhar made her sit down in front of the mandap and next to Laksh who hadn't even glanced at her once. He was staring straight ahead at the fire, even as she sat down he didn't even turn his head to at least look at her. Ragini wasn't complaining though, she didn't have enough courage to look at him in the eye without a wave of guilt rushing through her. The rituals started, everyone watched as the two got married. Ragini and Laksh were still hoping that Swara came running inside stopping the wedding but it was time for the rounds
but no Swara had come running inside. They both got up and started taking the seven rounds carefully walking around the sacred fire.

They both were repeating the priests words but were they both going to be following these vows and were they really going to be living for each other and be there for each other through happiness and sadness. Was it just words that they were repeating or were they actually going to be supporting eachother truly. What about when Laksh found out? He would be disgusted and would want to throw her out of his life. Luck just wasn't on her side and as Laksh applied sindoor in her hairline she knew she was married and there no going back.
