"Sharmishta what are you saying? Where is Swara." Dadi asked.
"I don't know I've looked everywhere she's gone I can't find her." Maa whispered, hurt and shock clearly written on her face. Ragini lowered her eyes, her sister was going to be blamed and accused for a deed she hadn't committed, this is so much more terrible than she had thought it was going to be.
"What type of joke is this Shekharji marriage isn't a game I did not expect this from swara." Durgaprasad uncle shouted.
"Please can everyone leave now why are you standing here listening this is our home problem." Laksh spoke up for the first time, anger clear in his deep brown eyes. Ragini felt more ashamed than ever, she had betrayed everyone who she had loved. She could feel herself drowning in sorrow and her thoughts. Once everyone had left, Sujata aunty spoke.
"I told everyone that this girl will betray us but nobody listens to me do they?." she taunted. Ragini curled her fists in anger, her son was the one who was behind all this and she had the nerve to speak.
"Sujata this isn't the time for gods sake please shut your mouth." Ram uncle scolded. Aunty huffed, embarrassed and annoyed. This surprised Ragini, she was not the type of person who listened to anyone and blabbered on without thinking but for the first time she kept mum, probably sensing the worry in this situation.
"But Shekhar what about this CD what should I do with it?." Mumma murmered, showing the cd which was gripped tightly in her hand. Ragini knew what was in that cd and secretly hoped that they would see it later, if they saw it now it would defame her sister's character even more.
"Sharmishtaji what's the point of watching this CD you and I can see that Swara has escaped." Anupurna aunty firmly said. Ragini suddenly felt all the respect she had for ap aunty suddenly drop. When they realised that their dear son was doing this then they would be quiet and not speak, how dare they speak so lowly of her sister! Mishti lowered her eyes, trying to hide her wet eyes.
"Durgaprasadji, please forgive us we are very ashamed we didn't know that Swara would make such a big mistake." Shekhar folded his hands and bowed his head in front of dp uncle. Ragini's eyes widened almost out of their sockets, her dad had to lower his head because of her. Laksh had not spoke a single word, he stood there, expressionless. An uncomfortable silence filled the room, nobody had anything to say, there was nothing to say anyway. Ragini felt relieved that nobody asked her anything, she would crumble and break down if she was asked at all. The fact that she had ashamed her whole family was slowly and painfully killing her insides, it was shattering her.
"Now what are we all doing standing here like statues? Swara isn't about to come back is she? Laksh come with us we will find a prettier and a more traditional girl for you who won't leave on the day of the wedding." Sujata aunty taunted again, giving all of us a dirty face. Ragini's nostrils flared in anger, her temper was rising.
"Thats enough Aunty you are like my mum but not a word against Swara."Laksh shouted, glaring at his dear aunt. Sujata looked insulted. Ragini smirked, that was her best friend.
"No if there was supposed to be a marriage then there will be a marriage my laado will marry Laksh." Dadi ordred, clearly.
"Mum what are you saying how can Ragu marry her brother in law." Maa asked, shocked.
"What else can we do Mishti? Mums right our Swara has left after betraying us now Ragini is having to pay the price." Shekhar replied.
"We have no problem with this relationship however we need to ask Ragini this is her life." Dp announced.
"I have no problem to save our family respect and pride I am ready to marry Ragini." Laksh spoke, not looking at Ragini.
"Only to save our pride I am ready for this marriage." Ragini said. She didn't know how the words had come out but they did. She felt ashamed while saying them, she was stealing her sisters fiancée, her love. She felt anupurna and sujata bless her and her dadi take her away to get her ready. She didn't speak, she felt numb. Her brother in law was going to be her husband.
