- When the story takes a popular character/characters and makes them go on some random journey not related to them at all. For example: Kidnapped by One Direction
Nope. I can't. Just... No. Like, Why? Why would that happen? Under what circumstances would they decide to kidnap somebody? This sadly very common for the music fandom. I feel bad for what the band had to put up with.
- When two unrelated fandom characters meet in a crossover that doesn't make sense. At all.
Like, say, Harry Potter and the Hunger Games.
"Wut if Voldemort took over Panem? Then Katniss went too Hogwarts for the Chosen one to save the day?"
Then Katniss and Harry fall in love, and someone saves the day, and Happily ever after with Potterdeen.
Wattpadians, make sure this never happens. Please. Prevent this cross-no-ver. Ooh, I like that. That's cool.
- the crossover is one that's completely overdone. Like, Harry Potter and Percy Jackson. How many can be found by Google search?
*Looks up 'Percy Jackson and Harry Potter'*
*Fanfiction.net shows 28965 crossover stories*
*Slams hands on the table* I rest my case.
- When crossovers are done, characters are completely out of character about 99.99999 percent of the time.
Example:
Percy Jackson: WATER! ANNABETH! STUPIDITY!
Katniss Everdeen: Hunt. Hunt. Death. Peeta.
Bella: I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT MY ONE TRUE LOVE.
...On second thought, that last one is pretty accurate.
- Sneak-overs- When you sneak in a crossover.
story: *is perfectly normal Divergent Fanfic*
Story: "No!" A voice said from across the room. It was Harry Styler, an Amity.
Me: ....
Me: Well. Trying to sneak in a crossover, are we? Well guess what? You failed.
