One Year Before

"Three whole week?" Lucy pouted as she watched Corey's entourage pack his Mercedes-Maybach. Although Lucy was used to Cory going on business trips, she never knew for his profession to keep him away from his family for longer than a week.
"Yes, baby. I promise I'll Facetime you and the kids every night." Cory ensured as he planted a kiss on his wife's forehead, causing her to slightly blush.

"Fine. And to make sure those bitches know you taken, Here." Lucy laughed as she seen corey unfold the shirt revealing her face right in the center of it.
Corey couldn't help but to let out a small chuckle as he stared at his beautiful wife on the shirt.
"Can't nobody compete with you baby." Corey replied, hugging Lucy and planting one last kiss on her soft lips before getting in his car and pulling out the driveway.

Lucy watched until his car disappeared before going back into their now empty home. Since the kids were at Corey's parents house she had nothing else to do. She walked around mindlessly as she tried to figure out something to do. Lucy never noticed how huge the estate was until she had to be there all by herself.
After about 30 minutes of figuring out what to do, she decided to grab her favorite book and a glass of wine and read in the garden.

Lucy walked to the bookshelf and grabbed,"The Cartel 6" by her favorite authors, Ashley and Jaquavis. She then walked down to the basement, where corey turned it into Lucy's very own wine cellar. She grabbed a bottle of Napa Valley white wine before going outside to the garden. The house was finally peaceful. The sound of screaming children and a husband asking what tie he should where to his meeting with his banker didn't exist. But instead, the calmness of chirping of local birds and the smooth sound of Janine and the mixtape played in the background.
"A girl could get used to this." Lucy joked. Even though the peace was relaxing, she wouldn't trade her rowdy life for anything in the world.

A half bottle and 6 chapters later, she heard the doorbell ring. Lucy rolled her eyes as she placed the book mark on chapter 7 and finished of the rest of the wine in her glass before getting up to answer the door.
She looked at the security app she had on her phone to see who was at her door. It was Black, Corey's best friend. She opened the door to let him in.

"Hey, Black." Lucy said as she hugged him. Black was like a big brother to her but she figured corey would've had black with him on his business trip like always.

"Wassup, Ma. Corey told me to just chill out over here and make sure you good." he said walking to the kitchen to make him a sandwich as he did everytime he walked in the house.

"Alright. Just don't eat up all my food Nigga." Lucy laughed.

"So why didn't you go with corey on his business trip?" she added as she watched Black eat his sandwich. The question must of caught him off guard because be stopped chewing and looked at Lucy before replying.
"He wanted me to stay here with you." he said.

Lucy stared at black through squinted eyes, she knew Corey would never go on business without Black by his side, and the house was already packed with security so it was obvious they was both lying.

"What?" Black laughed as he watched Lucy give him the stare of death.

"Call him. Now Black. Facetime that lying Nigga." Lucy said calmly as she bit the inside of her lip.
Black knew the type of firecracker Lucy was and didn't want to ignite the flame that Corey caused by lying. So he pulled out his phone and began to facetime his best friend.

After a few rings, Corey finally picked up, "What's good, Boy. How's my Ol' Lady?" Corey asked. Black looked Lucy way once more before replying.

"What's wrong?" Corey added.
Instead of replying he just handed Lucy the phone, before Corey could even talk Lucy interrupted him.

"Corey, you know not to try me... Let me find out you doing something you aint got no business doing, I'm gonna raise hell." Lucy stated before giving black back his phone, not giving Corey a chance to defend himself. She left the kitchen and began to go back outside before turning back to Black, "You can leave, black. Your services isn't needed anymore." She said kicking him out the house. She knew Corey wasnt telling the truth and she was about to find out what he was hiding.
