Nikki POV:

So, yeah I was stuck in a cabin full of pranksters and thieves and it sucked. It wasn't even the Stolls, which bummed me out a little 'cause I always thought the Stolls would be kinda cool to hang around. Anyway so being in the Hermes cabin sucked and all that, but I went back home for the school year. I'm getting a little bit ahead of myself here. Rewind, I had only been at camp for a day or so, when I saw the girl running past Thalia's pine tree and stop, as she looked at her surroundings. I quickly ran up to her and gasped as I realized it was my best friend since the first day of kindergarten, Evie. I immediately ran up and hugged her tight, for a second, before pulling away and checking to see if she had any injuries. I saw a gash on her forehead and a smaller one on her arm. I cringed at the sight and dragged her into the infirmary, calling for Will.

Finally, after she was laying down on a bed, in the infirmary, Evie found her voice, "Where-where are we?" I smiled at her, "Hey, E, welcome to Camp Half Blood." She just stared at me, a look of shock on her face, for a while, before she spoke again, "But I thought that was just a fictional place, in a series of fictional books." "Multiple series of books." I corrected. "And, no this is definitely real." She her beautiful, grey eyes bore into mine, "If you knew, why didn't you tell me? You knew about all of this and never, once thought to tell me about it? Me, your best friend." Her voice cracked, as she continued, "I am your best friend, right?" I looked at her, rolled my eyes and said, "The bestest. And to answer your question, I've only known for a few days." A look of realization plastered itself across her face, "So that's why you and Noah mysteriously went missing the night before the last day of school. Noah was taking you here, assuming he's a state." I just rolled my eyes and said, sarcastically, "Yeah, and that's why I didn't tell you before going MIA." She just rolled her eyes, used to my sarcasm, "Whatever."

About thirty minutes later, Evie was allowed out of the infirmary. Why so long? Because they have to ask us all questions about our history and allergies and all that stuff, for our files. So, it was getting around lunch time and I was giving Evie the tour, when the conch horn blew, signaling lunch. I smiled and pulled her over to an empty table. There's no longer a rule about cabins being assigned to tables, since Solangelo became canon. Evie looked around and then back to me, "What about the cabins rule?" Though my eyes hadn't left her since she got out of the infirmary, they weren't exactly focused on her eyes either, so I looked at her eyes and answered her question, "About that, yeah, uh, it kinda doesn't exist anymore." She nodded her head in understanding then continued eating her food.

I was just watching her eat, when I heard someone clearing their throat behind me. I turned around to see Will Solace, who looked at me, "Um, Nikki, care to tell me why you aren't eating anything?" The other heads at the table turned towards me and I blushed a little, "S-sorry, Will, but I'm just not hungry." Will stared at me, dumbstruck. "You weigh 113 pounds and you're as skinny as Nico, for crying out loud. How can you not be hungry?" I just shrugged my shoulders and turned back to Evie, trying my best to ignore Will, who hadn't moved. "You do need to eat sometimes, ya know." Evie said, looking down, at my body, where she could see my ribs, slightly, through my shirt. I groaned, "Evie, Will's influenced you too much, what happened to that girl I befriended back in kindergarten?" Evie chuckled, "She'll be back, but not if you don't eat anything." I groaned again, but reluctantly Willed (haha) my plate to fill up with ... a slice of pizza. I carefully picked up the pizza and opened my mouth. I took a bite and started chewing it very slowly, before looking at my best friend, expectantly. She looked back at me and gestured for me to keep going, so I reluctantly took another bite and looked back at her again. We continued on like that until there was no more pizza left on my plate. Will had left as soon as he saw Evie had my eating under control.

After lunch, I finished giving Evie the tour. Then we joined in the Hermes cabin activities, just in time for rock wall climbing, which didn't go as the others planned, since Evie is like terrified of heights, like she can do roller coasters, but only if someone's with her. She doesn't do horses for the same reason, like she can get on a horse just fine, but when you look down while getting off the horse, she always realizes how high step really is off the ground and starts freaking out. So, she got to root for me as I raced Cecil to the top and won, of course. We were about to start heading towards the sword fighting arena, when we all stopped dead in our tracks, looking at the holographic olive branch that appeared just above Evie's head. I rolled my eyes, "Naturally you'd get Athena." She looked at me and smiled, "Well at least we won't be sisters." She said, blushing and I felt my cheeks heat up too. We just kinda stood there, awkwardly, until Cecil said, "Nikki, why don't you show your friend to the Athena cabin?" I nodded and walked off to the Athena cabin, where I knew the children of Athena would be studying (I certainly didn't check their training schedule, just in case Evie was claimed by Athena *nervous laugh*)

So I knocked on their door, Evie standing behind me. Annabeth opened the door, and looked at me, "I thought you said your dad was the god in the family." She said in confusion and I stepped aside and said, "Yeah, he is, but my friend here, Evie, is your sister." Annabeth nodded and opened the door wider, gesturing for Evie to enter her new cabin. "Right, didn't see you there." Annabeth said then she turned to the rest of her siblings, "Everybody, let's welcome Evie, our newest sister." Everyone in the cabin turned around and gave my best friend a short round of applause. When it was over, Evie asked me to help her get settled in and I did, then she was announced at dinner, and that's really all there is to say.
