I watch him every day. I watch him as he helps Judy with her homework. I watch him as he cooks dinner for all three of them. They all hold a certain sadness in their eyes that never seems to go away. I want to tell him that everything is alright. That he doesn't need to spend every other night with alcohol. I hope he gets the help he needs soon. I'll see him again before he knows it.
I can tell Judy knows I'm here. She'll smile a little when she feels my presence. She knows everything will be okay. I can't blame her for still being sad. I miss her too. She's my brave little girl. Nothing can stop her.
Bless my mother. She's sad too, but she still lives every day like it's her last one. I wish that the other two would do the same. They can get by without me. They don't need to me to be happy. They have so many other things that can make them happy. They'll be alright soon enough. We'll all be together again someday. But for now, I'll just watch.
